Just got back from the flyfield. Got my buddies Ergo 30 set up and put it in the air, with training gear, of course. Needs some fine tuning, but, flew in 20 plus winds.
Put my Raptor 30 up to over 150 ft, strong winds, and brought it home in one piece.
Sunshine, but winds were a killer. All you had to do, was bring it up and you were in FF right away. Overall, had a hell of a good day. Cold beer at the end, so all is well. hahahahha

Honey, where's the check book, it's Fedex again

Yep, been raining here, every blasted day. Got clear skys today, and damn it the winds were gusting to about 30, kinda steady at 15 to 20. I don't really mind the wind, one of the few that will fly a plank on windy days. Helis' in the wind, piece of cake.
My thiry raptor saw some virgin territory today, due to the wind, made over 150 feet, and didn't have to ad power. Just hold on to the transmitter and pray. Did four flights , had a good time.
Been setting up my friends ergo 30, Got it in the air, not over ten feet, had some shaking going on due to flybar bushings being wore out. Trimmed out pretty good, and was stable, but still had the shakes.
Overall, good day. Just too damned cold. 44 with killer wind. you figure. Needed cold beer to warm up .

I haven't been to the field in about 3 or 4 months. Friday night I charged everything and over-slept Saturday morning. Looked outside and it was about to rain. Woke up today, nice and sunny but the winds were variable at about 25 mph. Decided not to go, besides I'm getting over the flu so I probably did the right thing.

Nimitz: Sorry about the flu deal, that sucks. You need to start practicing in the wind,. Makes for a real nice day, when it ain't there. I consistantly fly , when everyone else is grounded. No one seems to understand that wind is what makes aircraft fly. hahaha.
With planks, you take off in a shorter run, land slower, makes life easy.
With helis;, you are already in FF when you lift off. Just have to manage the sticks. Takes less power to climb, etc, etc. which I'm sure you already know. Also, backing up is a snap, just hover, it will come home.

Oh I don't have a problem with wind. Most of the time I fly with my dad and he's getting there with the heli, but is more comfortable with the planks. So today was going to be more of a plank day. And where we fly there are absolutely no trees and with the wind being variable.. I didn't feel like dealing with all the cross winds.

Nimitz: On really windy days, and flying planks, I take my spad. 60 inch wing and 61 engine. Kicks butt. Be surprised what those plastic airplanes will do.
Pics on request. Fuse and wings cost about 20, with landing gear. Almost impossible to trash em. Go to "spad to the bone.com" ,makes pilots out of buddy box pros.
