I'm flying a Raptor 50, Mav ProG4 600mm blades, 95mm tail rotor blades, GV1, 611 gyro, Futaba 12z, 9451's on cyclic & collective, 9252 throttle.

I started loosing my tail rotor during autos several weeks ago and found I had a clutch issue. Since our weather isnt allowing much fly time I decided to tear it down for some routine maintenance. Replace the clutch and flywheel, new main & starter shaft bearings, freshened up the tail rotor bearings as well. Everything is free, no binds, grey gear spins with ease and tail is driven both directions.

I've searched past post for this and feel like I went over everything that I saw mentioned but today.......... same thing. After a great flight I climbed out, hit my hold and instantly started a slow spiraling auto...... about head high I came out of my hold and instantly regained control.

My 12z is new to me but I have not found any place that I feel I am turning my 611 into normal mode, I have checked the screen and when in hold I still have an a31 shownign which is my gain setting.

All suggestions & discussion welcome.
Thanks

I would first check to see what your tail blades look like when you flip into hold. Check to make sure that they are straight so that when you flip the switch the bird descends without spinning.

If the gyro is on it shouldn't matter what the tail blades do when yo flip the switch on the ground.

How bout different trims in different flight modes and the throttle hold rudder trim is different than idle up?

Or depending on TX setup, you may still have revo mix or throttle-rudder mix enabled.
The 9Z is really funky that way

thanks for the suggestions. I plan on taking a hard look into the radio trims..... with the new radio programming in the 12z its not outside the realm of possibility that I have over looked a trim link or programming mix.

It will be Wednesday before I can get into it more. I'll keep you posted.
