Well, Chris it was a total lockout this morning on the 600, flew a couple of mins then went back to normal, and was fixing to land and total lockout not even throt. hold worked. But thursday on Vibe #2 the main shaft sheared in flight, not pretty but pretty cool looking

Man, that sucks. I royally hate hardware failures. I would much rather dumbthumb one in. At least when you dumbthumb you know the cause.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I too have been in the same boat recently.

Are you flying standard radio gear these days?

Later,
Chris

Electrical noise generated by a bad servo, either from the motor or driver electronics, can upset the rf electronics in the receiver, causing a lockout or bad jitter in the case of PPM.
Some suggest that servos like the 8700G can't be used with PPM receivers, this is because they are quite noisy servos electrically speaking. Good external decoupling does solve the problem so they can infact be used with PPM. Anyhow, PCM receivers are upset in just the same way as PPM receivers, but the message recovery software simply throws away corrupt messages.
