Im watching this 60 minutes special program about how technology is getting to hard for people to operate. I can not believe how stupid some of these people are. They had this guy with a PHD from MIT on there that couldn't even work a cellphone. Another guy didn't know how to hook up a plug and play router. Seriously, you just plug it in, you don't even have to turn the dam thing on. My mother for example has 2 bachelor degrees and an MBA but cant work a 4 button digital camera. According to 60 minutes this is all engineers fault. Apparently we cant make things simple enough for these morons to use. I just dont understand how someone can have a PHD in anything and not be able to follow simple instructions. People that are to dumb to work the technology they buy shouldn't have the money to buy it.

Some people lack common sense. My father is one of the smartest people I know, but sometimes he does things (or doesn't do things) and I'm like "are you retarded?!" But thats just the way it is. I think the more complicated it is, the better they do at something. But simple things throw them off.

I hope this link works. The volume is low, so you might have to turn up your sound system a little. Nothing to offend anyone, much to amuse everyone.

I just saw the show also. It took the host forever to find the volume button on the 48 button remote. He said that there were refriderators with a internet connection and that when you run out of somthing it can order it for you. That is ridiculous. The guy who bought the HDTV and couldnt get it to work, I can understand. That stuff is complicated.

Oh man you must be my brother. My dad is the same way. He is one of the most insighful people when it comes to history, politics, etc. But you put a couple of wires and sockets in front of him and he is dumbfounded.

I have a brother-in-law is a gifted radiologist but has no clue how to change the oil in his car.

I have another one that is a very talented sports writer. But doesn't know the difference between a phillips and flat head screwdriver. When it comes to assembling books shelves, or putting up a ceiling fan, his wife has the job.

Myself, I'm a jack of all trades but, If the fate of the world was depended on me solving a trigometric function or singing a tune on key we're screwed.

If someone is smart doesnt mean that they are gonna know everything. You brother in law is the talented sports writer who doesnt know the difference between a phillips and a flat head, but you are the guy who does know the difference of the two screwdrivers but have no clue about sports writing.

Anyone remember the story where some woman called a computer store when she couldn't get her computer to come up? supposed to be a true story..she called the store saying her computer would not come on or boot up and after a few inqueries the guy at the store asked her if everything was plugged in... she said she wasn't sure, she wasn't able to see and the guy asked why not? and she said they had a power failure.
the guy told her to pack everything back up and return it to the store because she was too dumb to even have it!

Years ago , in my local pup , the music system was said to be too hard for people to understand how to use . The supposedly intellegent customers (the epidemics )just couldn't use it , BUT IT ONLY HAD FOUR BUTTONS ! One for "up" one for "down" one for "select" and one for "back" .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

I've got a MBA and a JD:

When my toilet leaks, I call a plumber.

When my car breaks down, I call a mechanic.

When my TV breaks, I buy a new one.

When I can't figure out the TV remote, I ask my 5 year old son.

When my network doesn't work, I call my Network Admin.

When my phone doesn't work, I call my phone company.

When my gun jams, I send it to my gunsmith.

When I need my suits cleaned, I send it to the dry cleaners.

When my wife doesn't put out, I call for a hooker.

As you can see, I employ a lot of people.

Forest Gump...."I'm not a smart man."
