Hi guys

l`ve put a few flights on this setup now and l`m happy with it so far. lt seems to make my logo 14 feel even lighter in the air than it did before. Anybody else notice this or is it just me?

Thanks. Not just me then. l`ve hardly flown for 6 or 7 months for various reasons so add that to a new tx and l think l`ll need to go steady for a few more flights or fly something less powerfull like a screeming 90.

Hey no worries, it kinda freaked me out to. I think it will take me several more flights to really get the feel for it. For the first time I am considering adding in some expo which I have never done on any heli or in any tx! Take care!

The things so light as well. l used to laugh at posts complaining about this thinking for gods sake the lighter the better, l flicked the hold switch and almost sent it over my shoulder. l dont use a neck strap but l might need a foot strap with this little gem.

Mine too feels lighter and more precise in the air with the spektrum stuff! I really wanted to add som expo in the beginning but are getting used to it now. Also put a spektrum rx in my old school fixed pitch Piccolo and even that one became easier to fly

Will you guys upgrade to a DX9 if that ever comes out or do you keep your DX7?

Hi Lorents
l don`t see me needing 9 channels so l`ll be staying with the 7.
Might be good for your AP though. Been out with it again today and that expo is looking tempting. Wont be flying tomorrow, l`m off to see a mind bender, he says he can stop me smoking. lf it works that would be worth a new 10s pack every month, then its byby nitro.

I'm with you guys. The Spektrum does seem to give this already light feeling incredible helicopter and even lighter feel! I love it! Especially not having to worry about frequency pins.

It's funny how many people at the field still keep asking me what channel I'm on. It's funny to say,"Look at my Tx!" then the inevitable,"oh!"

Can`t say, l only had the 3810 (forget what you guys call it) but it`s light years faster than that. l`d been about ready to shell out on a 10X when l started reading about the DX7. Phew, close shave or what. One friend had the futaba 9 something WC, he sold it and got one. He`s very happy with the DX7. Another friend has one and is selling his 14MZ so l guess he`s pretty happy with it. One good thing is lt wont cost you an arm and a leg to find out.

Check out this video my flying buddy made where he compares the servo movements using his old 9C and the DX7:

Illustrates pretty well why it feels different in the air

Got out again today and l`d found the balls to put the ubec back on. You would not believe the problems l`ve had with this thing on spcm. Got two flights in before she rings me and no problems, l`d even dumped the ferrite rings. Before the Spektrum it would have been glitch, glitch and shutdown all the time.

Would I lose the benefit of DX7 if I were to use it with my DX6 receiver?

Are you all using the RX that came with the DX7?

Right now I'm using my DX7 TX with my DX6 receivers on all my birds. I'm too lazy to swap the RX's for now. Would this set up lose a lot of performance?

Tony, I have been flying my trex with both the DX6 (AR6000) receiver and the DX7 (AR6100) receiver and dint notice that much of a difference. I noticed more when I changed from the JR 770 PCM to the AR6000.

Hey Jag.
Just to pile on the pain l got to fly my R50 today. lt has 9252s on cylic and 9250 on pitch all on 6volts. Man the speed of the tic tocs is now only govend by the speed of my thumbs. For some reason l was able to turn the gain up on the 720 by more than 20 points and still going. l think l may have to buy some better servos for the 14 now and you might have to spend a few $$$ to

Yes, several times

Here is another video showing the difference between JR 9X/R770 and DX7/AR6100 using cheap analouge waypoint 092 servos. Its from a mini titan that I just finished building:
