Today I stripped the main gear in my benzin acrobatic. Of all the possible causes, including stress before a year and a half of flying, is that I messed up with the Futaba Gv-1 hidden menu.
I changed the OnRv from the 70% default to 60% as someone recommended in another topic in this forum. This, as far as I understand, means the governor engages earlier so if you are at 1200 rpm with your curve and you turn on the governor which is set up to go to 1400 it will engage, risking you main gear teeth. I guess that's what happened to me, or maybe not. But I felt I should warn the ppl about it.
The reason I messed up with this parameter is that sometimes when I am descending or in heavy winds, or in heavy pitch manouvers the governor gives up after reving up. It seems that this OnRv parameter solved the problem but brought another
The fact is that while it lasted the governor was rock solid holding the rpm and engaged all the time. Maybe this wasn't the cause.
