I am in the process of changing the head on my Xcell 1005 to the all metal head and doing the SE conversion. Last night I was setting up the swash with the swash level tool and am getting interaction when "aileron" inputs are made to the swash. When I give a roll command I can see the elevator linkage move down and the swash dip. The elevator servo is not moving and there aren't mixes set. When I apply a side load to the swash the interaction stops. I also limited travel on the aileron servo to make sure that the swash wasn't hitting the main shaft with no change.

Is this swash worn out? It doesn't feel loose.

What you are likely seeing is a ail>pit interaction caused by the need for differential travel in the aileron control. You have two options here, and I have used both to good effect:

1. MA sells an aileron differential servo arm get that shifts the balls ahead of the centerline of the servo. This differential reduces the interaction you're seeing. If you don't want to get that kit, you can also shift the mounting holes for the balls on a round servo wheel three or four mm ahead of the centerline to create the same effect. Ron Lund is sold out of the kit, but he has all the pieces to make one up under the 0596 part numbers.

2. A multipoint ail>collective mix works well to zero out the collective changes with aileron commands. It's funny to watch the servos moving to correct the issue, but the important part is the swash sits still.

You are correct, it is aileron>pitch. So what you are saying is that one side of the swash is lagging the other causing the swash to dip?

If you have the 14MZ radio, the swash details will solve this problem for you.

Just do it.

Hmmmmmmm, I was looking for the justification to buy the 14MZ! Right now the 9C works pretty well. I am waiting for Futaba to come out with their next generation transmitters with the 2.4Ghz.

Swash detail is for eCCPM. The menu is not available to my knowledge in the mCCPM program.
