I can't for the life of me get my T-rex 450xl to fly right. This thing is way too sensitive. I can be flying in no wind and its still all over the place. So I'm wondering if its my set up. So can some one here tell whats best in terms of pi-curves, expo etc.

A friend of mine has one and let me fly it (thats what prompted me to get one) and it was rock solid. So something I've done as far programming it is wrong. Also noticed today that the tail isn't very solid.

One guy I flew with was good at set'n up his Fury Nitro, but couldn't get his rex going as good. So I showed him everthing nit picky that I could find & everyhing has to be perfect.
Flew great 1 hr later! For these small beast, set up is more critical than the big Birds!!!

I could go through the radio and list how I've got it set up as well as what I'm using if that would help.

No I didn't mirror his settings as he had sold his before I bought mine.
Left is left, right is right. It flies, but would like it to be a bit more stable.

Well It's time you learned to set up a radio and your heli correctly. Here is a link to a video library of everything you need to know about your trex SE.. Watch these and set your heli up like this and it will fly better than your buddies right off the bench....

no revo

Turn OFF the revo mixing or you'll drive yer heli bonkers. let the gyro worry about the tail, and too much gain on the gyro is as bad as too little. You want enough to hold the tail but not so much it twitches or gets weird in a light breeze. If I turn mine up too much it's worse than too little. Too little just makes it slow to respond to changes, too much and it's sending the tail all over the place. Of course, my sweet spot is nearly 10 points of travel adjustment on the transmitter, so it's not THAT touchy.

I agree, really work on your physical setup, Finless will help. Check for ANY binding. It's death on little helis. Flybar weights will help, so will heavier paddles. Duel rates and exp help cut the twitchy feeling too.

Remyrw That is why I sent him to watch "the" videos, It looks like he has many issues with his radio setup and probably the mechanical setup as well....... Rather than try to talk him thru it I figured it was easier for him to correct the big problems on his own and we can help fine tune whats left.....

Well as soon as Heli-freak lets me log on I'll watch the videos. There isn't any binding. That was an issue I had with my Raptor 60 and I learned real quick about checking things. Building and such I don't have a problem with, but set-up is what gets me.
