Knight 50!! Out of the box it's the best built, best flying and cheapest to buy and repair.
Aye every 5 seconds while you crash it due to failing parts

I got 3 flights, 3 crashes and 2 midair frame breaks

I get my EVO stuff from heli-proz usually. No local hobby shops around these parts.

I LOVE MY EVO!!!

I'm flying a HEAVILY upgraded Raven 50, however, I have experience with it without the upgrades.

I want to say some things that no one else seems to be saying. First off, the Raptor, Raven, and Evo will all perform 3D out of the box. They all fly different. The constructions are different as well with pluses and minuses for all 3. Since I am building a Raptor Titan right now having just completed the Raven, I can honestly say that the build is easier for the Raven and is a bit more solid than the Raptor. Now for flight characteristics, I can't speak on the Evo, but I know the Raven has a tighter feel than the Raptor OUT OF THE BOX.

Now for the important stuff, regardless of what you get, don't skimp on the electronics or engine. If you want 90 size performance in a 50 size helicopter, you're going to need high quality stuff. I run a regulator in my 50 as well as 9451s on cyclic. I'm running the OS 50 Hyper (honestly, why would you consider anything else?!). It has plenty of power. I am also running the logictech 6100T. I'm still ironing out the bugs with the 6100T but I can feel its potential. Don't skimp on the servos or the gyro. If you want hardcore 3D, a GY401 won't cut it, get a GY611 or 6100T. Get high speed high torque servos. Get CF blades. Get an OS 50 hyper and tuned pipe if you want it.

Now just to add a little more. I just finished flying Raven which is brand new and I'm still ironing out a few bugs. Right now, in normal mode, I've limited the throttle to 60% (I use weird curves for normal mode) and have 12 degrees of positive pitch. I pushed the throttle/collective stick to the max and this thing took off like a rocket. I was cruising around the field at 50mph easily with this setting and this was 60% throttle. Imagine what I could pull off with 100%. OS 50 Hyper is the way to go. I never felt that I was holding the engine back, but I know that I was.

In short, get whatever helicopter you want that has the most appeal to YOU. Who cares what others say is the best? Get what is the best for YOU! For me, it's the Raven, for joebillybob it's the Evo, for christophercharlie it's the Raptor. Get what YOU want!

The important thing isn't so much the helicopter as what's under the hood.

the thing about Century is they keep updating their 50 kits without raising the price or changing the name, they just keep improving the heli, the latest Raven/Falcon kits has some 11 updates, that makes about 18 or 19 updates in about a year..

i'll start by saying that the Raptors were awsome designs from the word go...
From the start they were years ahead... but in a decade, they'v only released Raptor V1, V2, SE and Titon (Excluding their recent bout of electric helis... lol).
The V2 was jst beefing up the V1, the SE is a V2 with upgrades on it and the Titon has 2cm on the boom and some push pull links *shrugs*.

Its been a long time since we'v seen anything origional from TT... Where did all their greatness go *sighs*. If they had stuck with it the Raptors would proberbly still be ahead...

All that said, i'v got 2 and 1/2 raptors, awsome helictopers, amazing to think how long they'v been around and their still holding their own...
Just feel a little disapointment that they'v never taken things a step forward much in the nitro devision...

Ps, Dont let this put you off a raptor... It'll hold its own against almost any other 50 out there, as said previously, its the gear that makes the kit...
but why oh why oh why did they stop there...

Because there is a huge upgrade market, and it costs nothing to keep running the same components now they have recouped the Research and Development.

TT will change when they need to.
