Hi.

Just got my Hacker motor and Quark 33 ready to setup.

I would like to get some advice about programming the esc.

Is these settings ok?

Basic:

Mode selection: Heli 1 without gov. (or is the gov good enough to use or is it better with throttle curves?).

Brake selection: No braking

Battery selection: Li-Poly Normal (or should i use manual and set a voltage cut-off?)

Advanced:

Motor type: Out runner (of course)

Drag Brake: Off (not sure what this setting is?)

Race/Safe mode: Safe

Noise cancel on/off: Off

Torque selection: I have no idea on this one?

Neutral range selection: No idea here as well?

Delayed brake amount and gov. response selection: No idea?

Very greatful for some help.

It's the Quark V2 and i'm going to use Flight Power 3s 2150mah with it.

Thanks,

Andreas

"Air" mode is similar to "Heli-1" mode, except the spool is a bit faster, and the heli responds to throttle quicker. Gov mode tends to bog a little bit, although it performs quite well with the hacker motor, A20-6xl.

torque selection, neutral range, and all those odd settings, I just use default.

I cannot believe that I am typing this, but I would have to agree with everything "nutsac" said.

I use these settings with my V1, for heli 1 and air mode

torque normal
Lipo high
race mode on
noise cancel on

The noise cancel on keep will keep the motor at a constant rpm if there is a loss of signal from the transimitter/rx. Works great if your using a fixed throttle.

Lipo high is going to use all the power from the pack, instead of using it conservatively.

Thanks for the help guys.

Only a few more questions.

Is it better to run in LiPo high mode than Manual and cut-off at say 2.7V?

What's the difference between Safe and Race mode?

What's the difference between the various Torque selection (dynamic, normal 1 and 2 and soft?)

Thanks,

Andreas

I wouldnt run the cuttoff at 2.7v per cell. Stick with 3.0v or 2.9

You can run the lipo high mode with any voltage cuttoff.

If your running safe mode, the Quark will only respond to your transmitter, but there is a chance they say it might shutdown. So I run race mode.

I don't know much about the toruqe selections, It has to do with how the motor is run durring the throttle changes. I jsut run normal or soft.

Thank for the help.

I'm almost ready to go to the field and try my setup now, only one problem left.

I can't reach the "No breaking" setting in basic menu.
Every other menu works both in basic and advance but when i enter the brake selection table, the lowest stick position shows one green led (soft braking) while it should show one red led (no braking).

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Andreas

You need to program your quark for your transmitter throttle position. It's section 5.3 in the manual. This should balance out the position selections when your trying to set area's. Pm me your email address and I'll email you the manual.

Hi Tmaster.

I have the manual and i've set the trottle endpoints. Everything is working except brake selection. I can reach all the other "low point settings" (e.g air mode in the mode selection and drag brake off in the advanced menu).

I have the travel at 100% and set the endpoints just as the manual sais and it works fine. I tried to increase the endpoints to 102% just to see if that could help me to get the 0 brake but i didn't.

My settings:

Basic:

*Air
*I want to get 0 brake (that's my problem) but now i have soft brake
*Li-po high
*2.9V cut-off

Advanced:

*Out runner
*Drag brake off
*Race mode
*Noise cansel off
*Torque selection- normal 1
*Neutral range selection- normal 1

Regards,

Andreas

Well after all thats said, You should try someone elses transmitter to program it. Remember to change to air or car mode to set all the areas. Then reset and change the main mode and turn it off. You dont need to go through everything.
