I'm about to paint my first canopies using HOK and my new HVLP gun. Question is, what do I use to cleanup? I bought some paint thinner at Home Depot but just noticed in the HVLP instructions that it says not to use thinner. What should I be looking for?

Both my airbrush and spray gun are Iwata and I use laquer thinner to clean them with. The seals in your gun may not be able to handle the reducers and thinners used with automotive paint. I had a Paashe airbrush and bought the Iwata because of this.

I've been spraying HOK with a Paasche VL series gun for year with no issues.

I use lacquer thinner or enamel reducer depending on what I just shot in the gun. Use the cheapest thinner you can get for clean up.
