Here's my DX7 programming for my BCP with HS-55 servos and separates - Those using the stock S75 servos will need their 2 3 & 6 channels opposite [Reversing SW] and maybe increase their [Swash Mix] values some.

great post Cptn! Im about to throw the AR6100 into ym CP pro..however, I just bought a Trex 450se..im using the Ar7000 in that..do you think these curves would work for the 450? i got this thing built but i know nothing about my new DX7 or programable radios in general. I wish somone would do a step by step on how to set up servos and radio for this..somwhat like you have done above. Good work man!

go big, go fast....or go home

Yep - Those curves should work for any properly geared electric heli - Just be careful when spooling up as that normal mode throttle curve is pretty steep but it provides good stability - If you don't like it you can ditch it and go linear like 0-25-50-75-100 -

What is the 4in1 hack that you need to do to use the DX7 TX? Is this efective long term or is it just used to defer cost till you can spring for the ESC, Gyro, and other goodies needed to use the DX7 receiver?

Thanks

To use a different RX with the CP you just need to remove the stock RX from the CP 4-in-1 and use servo lead extensions with part of the plastic sleeves removed exposing the the pins to connect the new RX to the CP 4-in-1 -

With the Pro 3-in-1 you don't need the extensions as it plugs right into any RX.

(You can use Heading-Hold gyros with the Pro 3-in-1 but not with the CP 3-in-1)

Mine is simular for the TREX 450 but with some added endpoints, etc due to the Gyro. When I was setting up the Trex I was hoping for someone to post settings like you did CC but nobody did- it would have made things alot simplier.

Thank you

Hey CC it worked out great. Can you tell me how to get my cyclic to respond as as quickly as the stock controller.

Dear God, please let it set down just as it took off. Amen.

You can turn down the Exponentials to make it more sensitive around center stick - I happen to like my cyclic dulled around center by about 25% but it's a creature comfort thing that's different for everyone so experiment to find what you like

Thanks again

I was checking it out in the manual. I am going to try bump it up a little at a time. "higher rate yeilds a higher overall sensitivity." DX7 manual page 79. Thanks again for that setup info. I am still getting used to "having control of the radio".

Dear God, please let it set down just as it took off. Amen.

Don't confuse Exponential (EXP) with Dual Rates (D/R) as they're on the same screen - D/R changes the overall amount of control at full stick deflection whereas EXP doesn't increase or decrease overall control but just changes the sensitivety around center stick - I'd Leave all the Rates (D/R) at 100% and just adjust the EXPs to your liking

I did the same thing. Replaced receiver in my blade pro with DX7 receiver 6100. Got everything configured and flying great. The question is: Can the original radio transmitter/receiver combo be used in airplane for a friend? Or is the transmitter stuck with heli programming?

Thanks,

The BCPP transmitter is stuck with eCCPM programming for helicopters, so wouldn't work for a plane.

On my CP2 I needed to put 115% aileron and pitch endpoints to get full swash travel. For some reason, this added sensitivity to the cyclic. But I use endpoints to have full mechanical swash range. I dial in expos to tame it down. This way the heli retains a good flip rate.

Turn on a dime. Flip like a quarter. Feel like a million bucks.

Sorry Gino but I'm going to have to disagree with any advice to adjust swash deflection via the individual CCPM channels from the Travel Adjust menu as unequal values will likely cause interaction which is why there is a Swash Mix menu where swash deflection should be adjusted from to maintain the CCPM mix ratios and prevent interaction

The only reason one should adjust the individual AIL ELE & PIT channels via the Travel Adjust menu would be to adjust all 3 equally to increase/decrease the total amount of travel available to the Swash Mix or unequally/individually in small amounts to dial out CCPM interactions that already exist

Haha. I see your problem. When I said pitch I meant Elevator (as in to pitch forward, roll vs pitch).

My setup:

[SWASH MIX]

Aile 100%
Elev 100%

[TRAVEL ADJUST]

AILE
L 115%
R 115%

ELEV
D 115%
U 115%

Turn on a dime. Flip like a quarter. Feel like a million bucks.

What about your PIT. Travel Adjust value? It's a component of the CCPM mix used to perform the AILE & ELEV functions as well - All 3 AILE ELEV & PIT. "channels" need to be equal in the Travel Adjust menu and their actual "functions" adjusted from the Swash Mix menu
