I am building a Raptor 50 with 9252s on cyclic and collective with a GY401 and 9254 combo on the tail.

I was a bit concerned about the high current of this setup so bought a heavy duty Futaba switch but it does not fit properly in the cutout on the Raptor servo frame.

What switch are you using on yours? Will the standard Futaba switch be sufficient? or maybe a JR one?

I am not sure whether to modify the frame or get a different switch.

Please help!!

I used the JR hd switch because the wires come out the back of the switch and not the side.

Futaba HD

After having failures with JR switched I want to Futaba HD and have never had a problem. The Futaba HD switches are big but they are definitely bullet proof.

I have had failures with Futaba, JR and Hitec so I am really not bothered about the manufacturer.

I am simply interested to know what switch will handle the current. For those that have used the Futaba HD switch, how did you modify it (or the frame) to get it to fit.

At the moment I am leaning towards the JR switch.

OK, now I feel stupid. I popped open the clips on the plastic case of the Futaba HD switch and the mod needed was so obvious. I have cut away a tiny bit of the plastic case and now the wire runs out of the bottom of the switch rather than the side. It fits perfectly and means I don't need to buy a new one.

Thanks for all the help.

Use a Fromeco Pin swich, no moving parts to fail.
Will fail open as well, maintaining power to servos and gyro.
I now use these on all my heli's
