So I order my brand new Pantera last Sundy... they ship it Monday... awsome service from the guys at Audacity (this is by no means a rant at them, they have been above awsome to deal with, and I know Audacity will not only help but go overboard doing so)... following it via the UPS tracking system... still shows ontime and ready to go even now...

Hmm getting late in morning and the UPS driver just passed me by...

I call UPS

Hold for 20 minutes for supervisor

Talk to supervisor for 30 minutes while waiting as they check on it

Oh really just because internet says departure and arrival scan that is just the UPS computer estimate unless they are flagged as an "exception"... ouch

Wow you dont say, it never apparently made it out of the first shipping office since Monday???

Wait for another 20 minutes because the Jacksonville, FL UPS office wont asnwer ??? cool

Holy spit, you want me to describe what the pieces would look like ??? Why ??? SO YOU CAN LOOK IN THE SO MANGLED YOU CANT EVEN RECOGNIZE IT AREA???? YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME...

After an hour UPS explians that it has to wait xyz days (mid next week) for them to try and find it and THEN within 15 days the shipper can make a claim ??? Amazing...

UPS? Heh, yeah... I've had problems too. mostly from my locak distribution center, they like to sit on a package for a day or two before delivering it to me.. But I'm in Denver, and we've got a city population over 4 million... So, I can't really bitch.

They're still in business because they deliver MOST packages on time, sometimes a package slips through the cracks or gets lost.

They deal with billions of packages each year, I'd be pissed too but you gotta cut them some slack somewhere. They have thousands of employees who are paid minimum wage to scan boxes and toss 'em onto different conveyors.

They're due no slack at all -- the other major shippers have very few problems doing the same job every day that UPS tries (and frequently fails) to do.

I've had so many problems with UPS (most recently a lost Stylus tx) that I now tell merchants up front that I'll place an order with them ONLY if they'll ship OTHER than UPS. If enough customers do the same, then UPS will either get the message and shape up, or go bankrupt and cease to be a problem.

Yea I will also give them credit for actually letting us speak to a human... by simlpy pressing zero, and not having to press anything for English...

So since this is the first time I have had a problem... Ill cut them some slack :-) ... but the part that really got tot me was the dates that I have looked at in the past the Departure and Origin Scans are nothing more than computer estimates...

And dont be fooled, full time UPS employees with Union representation are paid very well (as opposed to the guys who are part time / seasonal)... Have a buddy who is a shop stewart...

Also got a call from Audacity who volunteered to send a new one out today with expedited service and they handle UPS, told them to give it till Monday or Tuesday sicne it may have been a UPS person speaking out of... well not their mouth...

You might want to reconsider Audacity's offer -- no one loses and you won't have to wait, and UPS will have to pay to ship both items (one both ways) if your original order is found. The good folks at Airtronics sent me another Stylus so I wouldn't have to wait through the long UPS claim process.

I use all of the major players, and have had issues with every one of them.
Shipped almost 50,000 packages with with UPS last year. 4 or 5 claims. I think the problems tend to be regional.
Pretty good if you ask me.

Alright... I wont retract the fact that UPS didnt make alot of sense when I called... they still as of this moment say it is "lost", but a small truck (as in maybe special effort to get it here with unscheduled delivery ???) just showed up with the package...

So if they did this as customer service kudos....

Bingo. 90% of the time I get what I ordered when it's promised. Every once in a while a package will show up 1 business day late.

I have a similar UPS Customer Service story... I paid for 2 day shipping for an item and hadn't received it by the promised time because it sat at the local distribution center for over 24 hours. I called (and spoke to a person, she was very nice and responsive) and the package was delivered 3 hours later. That impressed me.

ive had an event happen (actually currently happening)

I was posting on here to trade item a for item b. I shipped out my item priority (kinda standard for me) and weighed about 14 lbs. The other package was shipped parcel. The estimate said 5 days. Im assuming the package weighs 20 lbs or so, that package has been sitting at the usps shop since the 16th. I called em up real early in the morning and they told me that the package weight in the truck has to be equal on both sides WHAT A LOAD OF SHIZ!

Nothing against the seller but i have never had usps be this retarded. I will still leave the seller good feedback though because he has answered my questions through it

I must chime in. I think they all have there slip ups, some more than others. In no way is getting it right 90% of the time a good way to do business, the problem is what can we do as consumers? Use another company and hope for the best? I know in my line of work if we only got it right 99% of the time we would not be in business very long.

I guess it is more about the people working for the company than the company itself. I think a lot of people today do not take pride in what they do, be it working at a fast food joint or working for ups.

I think you got that right about the people working for the company and think they all have thier issues and varies by not only region but by the day. Overall things have been going pretty well with things I've shipped recently however a large pkg (not oversize) going to Kansas was reported to me by the recievnig person to not have the correct postage assessed on it..so I said ok how much was it off expecting a few cents and they told me the error was approx 6 dollars how do you get an error that far off??! Annother snafu begining with the same USPS station and the pkg being shipped on the same day is a situation where this pkg was shipped on the 19th priority and has not arrived at its destination in california yet...my thoughts are that there are clearly some issues going on at this station and needs to maybe be reported to the postmaster general.

It's funny but I've had problems with everyone other than UPS. I guess their issues are specific to certain terminals. I won't even buy from stores that won't ship UPS.

Sorry to hear about your delay. I know how it is to get excited abut a new kit only to have something happen. Even a single day is agonizing Good luck with it.

Everyone and I mean everyone drops the ball at one time or another.
DHL, Fed-Ex, UPS and yes the USPS. I have heard horror stories about them all and yes I have a few of my own with each of them. Now they ALL deliver billions of envelopes and packages Worldwide each year, you are bound to get caught up in the one to five percent of those nightmare undeliverables.
