I know how to set the collective in normal and idle up, how do you go about setting the cyclic? (I am told you use the gage and mount it perpendicular to the blades).

thanks.

The easiest way on the 600 is to adjust the Swash AFR in the radio for Elevator and Aileron until there is NO binding when the metal inner edge of the swash, #2 in pic is at full tilt. I hold the radio stick at max, adjust the afr setting until the swash leans just enough that the inner edge hits the mainshaft, and then back it off 5 points or so. Do it independently for aileron and elevator, and you should be fine.

In a Trex 450 you can adjust the cyclic by getting the ball link end #1 in pic, as close to the bottom of the main grip as possible without hitting, and it'll work fine. But you CANT do that in a 600. The #2 in pic will hit the mainshaft long before the #1 hits the bottom of the blade grip.

he wants to know how to measure the cyclic pitch, not how to adjust it. do a search for cyclic pitch and you should find it.

NO,NO. He clearly asked how to "SET" it:
how do you go about setting the cyclic?
The way i mentioned is the easiest way to set it for max cyclic without binding. The numbers he would get putting a guage on them and measuring it really woudn't matter unless he plans on reducing the cyclic response for some reason. He couldnt increase the cyclic anymore past binding the swash anyway, so the actual number in degrees isnt necessary.

Thanks guys,

I'm just getting started into correctly setting these things up. I wasn't sure what exactly it was. I was thinking you have to make sure when you apply elev/ail in neg pitch, you don't bottom out the swash and limit the movement and start binding up servos. I'll read into the "cyclic" threads.
