Man that Hobby Town USA (in Pinevill, NC) is a joke the owner never wants to get off his ass to help you locat a part or noth'n! Besides get rude to me I keep comming back cause I dont have a choice for items like tools & plank stuff ( never by rex parts again from him)
their no other close by shop!
I asked him if their was a smaller wrench than 1.5mm & without looking said " ther aint nothing smaller" & turned his back!
So I looked around in the cheap section & saw 1.23mm.
So the next day I brought my part into the store to size it up opening the snap package the cheap wrenches were in & wouldn't ya know it it was a .050 standard! I neatley put tool back in it's case & was going to buy the good one behind the glass when I hear him say to his boy,"Go help thay guy out, He's rummaging thru all our stuff that I'll have to sell as used now!"
I said what's the deal with being so rude to me & never wanting to help me out?" Man he freaked out started telling me that he's had enough of me & get out of my F'n store! Wow, what hostility!!
Get Out, Get out he was screaming, then started calling me names like Racial skin head, Fu@k head & so on. I kept my cool & told him he was the Biggest Asshole I had ever met in a Hobby Store!
Now I'm gonna write a letter to the BB, Hobby Town USA Corporate & the Management office his shop rents.
What a Jerk!
Don't buy your Trex parts from Him!!!

and one more thing "DON'T BE AFRAID!"

OUCH, here comes the trouble I agree with you, report to BBB and Corperate of Hobbytown, if the owner work for them. Some owner can run and operate their own store. So, let hope your luck works

Whats the telephone number there? We should all start calling and asking for that guy and bugging him if he has smaller than 1.5mm hex wrenches.

What a pain. I am lucky, in Fort Wayne we have a hobby shop that is kind of like the old hardware store. If you have shopped there enough that they don't care if you walk behind the counter to look at parts when they are busy with someone else. They are alway willing to help find parts and even help put them on if there is any doubt of how.

I guess I have been spoiled, it would suck to only have a shop like yours around. Good luck. I don't understand how someone like that would stay in business, but I also wonder why someone is in a hobby business if they don't enjoy working with others on their hobby.

Holy Crap!
I've been to that store before. My cousin lives in Monroe, and i needed some parts last time i was visiting him, and he took me there. They Suck!

Is it in a little strip mall type area, with a supermarket or something kinda off the new bypass? A Circle K maybe?

If thats the one, it definitely wasnt worth the trip from PA!

I think it is all the parts- Drives some people Mad!!!! Sort of like postal workers.

But there is no excuse. If you are going to sell for profit the minimum thing you can do for free is be nice. No one will ever fault you for that even if you are a little expensive at times. Look at Nordstroms, Costco. They are not successful by being @#$@holes.

How far is King's from Charlotte? I know when I have called them, they have always been very helpful.

I also know how you feel about places like that. There is one shop in my area...45 miles away. If you ask the guy about anything that flies, he will tell you he just sells it, but don't know anything about it and can't help you. This shop caters mostly to cars.

Must be a HobbyTown USA policy. I have had the same experience with this company in WA. Not only not friendly, but arrived at the store 15 minutes after it was supposed to be opened. Took them 10 minutes to get setup and they finally opened the store.

Jon,

There is another hobby shop in RockHill. Have you ever been in and checked it out? I can't think of the name of it, but I have heard they are good folks.

I have watched 5 LHS's go out of business because of their owners crappy attitudes. Luckily, We have 2 LHS's that carry huge inventories.
The people that work in both hobby shops are OK. But, they have both run off alot of customers because of their attitudes. Both hobby shops (1 is a Hobby Town) call me for advice on electric and heli questions because they don't know what to sell their customers!
So, finally after 20 years of mediocer service, they are trying to stay in business and asking for customer input!
Now if I can just get one of them to stock X-cell parts!!!!

At least they are trying.......

Wow, any of you guys get around Fort wayne Indiana "Phils Hobby Shop" almost always has at least one guy in the Helicopter department that can answer almost any question you have. One of the guys that works there competes in National competion and has several highly spoken of demos on the net. I am not affiliated with them other than being a customer, but have never had a complaint about them.

They are also on the web at http://www.philshobbyshop.com/r-c-helicopters.htm

I never realized how lucky I am to have them 10 minutes from my house. When I crash, if I have a problem setting up they are always willing to help me.

Everybody should have a lhs like them close by.

The good news is that his business must not be doing to great if that's his attitude and he treats his customers that way. If profits were high he'd be dancing with happiness. Some people just should not be dealing with the public. He should be working for the State!
