It is normal for a battery to drop off a little.

Like what jadams posted, its normal. It happens on both nicd and nimh packs. I haven't used lipo in tx so can't comment on lipo.

There is nothing wrong with that tx. Maybe you might want to upgrade because of the better functions in higher end tx, like mixes and gov functions. You might also want the switch assigning function so that you get into idle up with different gyro gain, dual rate, headspeed etc, all at the flip of one switch.

Your pack (assuming 8-cell nicad or nimh) has a rating voltage of 9.6v When you charge it, each cell reaches up to 1.5 making the pack at around 12v. But as soon as charge is done and you disconnect the pack, the voltage drops and stays around 11+v then, 10v and all the way down to 9.6v. At 9.6volts it should stay for a long time. It is perfectly okay to fly at that voltage. You stop flying when you start reading 9.5volts
Don't worry it is totally safe. I never charge my packs before it reaches 9.5volts.
Well I know that there are people out there, as soon as voltage gets below 10.0volts, they charge it. It is very unnecessary...
