I have been shopping online for years. There are no hobby shops near me that carry parts for the two brands of helicopters I own.
I have had an on-line hobby shop hold my order up for over a month.
They had some pretty lame excuses for not getting my parts out in a timely manor.
Another on-line hobby shop charged my credit card three times for one order. That was pretty exciting. I found out my card was over the limit when I went to pay for dinner at a resteraunt! My purchase was an X-cell Fury Extreme kit. By charging me three times, they put me $1500.00 over my limit. I was charged $39.00 for an over-limit fee and my interest rate was jacked to nearly 30%. Luckily, the credit card company made it right.
Yet another on-line hobby shop back ordered some items on me. Then, charged my credit card for the entire order. Then, two weeks later, sent me the wrong parts!
Needless to say, I am bitter about the situation......
This week, I needed to order some parts for my T-rex and parts for an X-cell. I was dreading having to order them. I searched inventories and compared prices at a few on-line dealers. Only two of them showed everything I needed in stock. Zooms Heli had the best prices. But, they are in California and I am in Ohio. I didn't want to wait 5 days for my order to arrive. Nor, did I want to pay for 2 day shipping.
I wanted a Horizontal fin for my X-cell SE. The problem is, that it is out of production and the old number is now a Fury style fin.
I called Zooms to find out wich fin they had in stock.
Mike Smith told me that they have one in stock.
I placed the order Tuesday morning, and I received all the parts Thursday morning USPS Priority Mail. All of my parts were there!
They were actually out of stock on the G-10 vertical fin I ordered.
They sent me a carbon fin instead and didn't even charge me the difference! So, THANK YOU ZOOMS!!! You have earned my business and trust.
I know this sounds like a plug for Zooms. And, it is....
After my experiences with the rest. Zooms will get my business from now on.

Ordering on-line is always less expensive than paying for your LHS rent and other overhead. Plan ahead, do your homework, and dont expect overnight delivery unless you want to pay for it.

It's easy. Just pretend it's the simulator...

i to have delt with a lot of OLHS and there are many issues. lately i've been using Modefo's the most - over $75 order and its free shipping and USPS 2-3 days from CA to NC. gotta love it. great place to shop and he sometimes gets things for me that he dont even carry. and the price is still very resonable.
try them out

only you have the power to make no difference!

Yes, ordering on-line is easy! Dealing with liars and lazy jerks is not. When someone tells you that your order will ship right out, and two weeks later you receive parts that you did not order, that is not easy.
When someone tells you that your parts will ship in about a week and a month later, you still don't have your parts, that is not easy either.
How do you plan ahead for over $2000.00 in charges on your credit card that you didn't put there??????????
As far as homework, that is on reason why I joined RR and the Freak.
What great places to get an education!!!

It's good to hear that you had a good experience with Zooms. In the past, I've struggled with Heliproz and Ricks so I'm trying other places now.

I have heard Modefos is good from a few people. I have not ordered from there yet. I have been to the web site a few times. My only problem with them is that they don't show any glow powered models or X-cells. I need a one stop shop where I can order parts for both of my X-cells and my T-rex. Modefos definitely has good prices on the T-rex stuff. But, Zooms has both Heliproz has both too. But, they have burned their bridge with me

Try rchobbiesandmore.com
A local hobby shop that stocks almost everything, X-cell, Align, Century, Hirobo, Thunger Tiger, Eflight,Futba, JR, OS, YS, Hacker, Castle Creation, Thunger Power, Hyperion..... matches the prices of the bigger mail order guys, but gives the service you would expect from Jeff Green @ Hirobo. And they also fly whay they sell so they have first hand experience.

Thats just the Helicopter department, they also have planes, cars, boats, paintball, skateboards...

Just remember -- if the world didn't suck, we would fall off.
