I was wondering if many are using this, it looks to be on the expensive side. They also use a 50 MW downlink, they claim that is good enough. I see many post of higher output downlinks. Does the product stand up to a 900.00 price tag? Other recommendations? PM me if you feel you want to keep it out of the thread.

Thanks..

I have HCS mobile mount, Its a great quality and concept, you will need mobile monitor only if you are using their downlink since it has bad range and not great as the BW kinda downlink of 200mw

I used my mobile monitor just couple of times and then i started to use it in my car by hooking it up on the back of the front passenger seat and rigging monitor there with downlink receiver.

I dont know what downlink HCS sells now but the one I bought 1 year ago used 12V battery + plus the built in receiver in the monitor is very bad and can easily get damaged, where as BW runs on 5V battery and much better range and clarity and you can chose what monitor you wanna use

Do you have any range problems Bill with the 50 MW? I like the mobility and the tray mount. I've been looking at the systems Airfoil sells also. A tripod mounting would probably be used if I go with Airfoil. Did you supply the Hoodman or did it come with the mobile monitor setup?

I paid a couple hundred less for this one. Unless the price of your radio is included with the HCS.

And it's worked just fine so far.

Whatever type you go with, I'd say it's really nice to have a mobile monitor system. Your camera operator can stand right beside you at all times even if you decide to walk with the heli to a better angle. No need to land and move equipment to a new location. Plus it eliminates the need for radios and headsets as you can just talk to each other.
