You are welcome!! You will love this heli , all CNC aluminum right out of the box, no up-grades to buy , it is all there!!
The Sportsman is about $245.00 ; the Expert is about $340.00, so much better than the Trex!! The Trex cannot compare to this heli!

The Sportsman is for sport flying mild 3D, it has a 6mm main shaft and 4mm tail shaft, 2500RPMs max headspeed; the Expert has an 8mm main shaft , and 5mm tail , thicker frames, heavy duty 3D, ; Im running 3150 RPMs on my EX, that would blow up the SP
I run a 4s1p 3250mah 20C Tanic battery, Z20-1500/1470kv motor , very powerful , no bogging, none!!

where do you guys buy your parts etc for these helis?

never seen a lot of these around and if quality are so good , why are they so little people getting into it?

do they have a great online vendor in USA for it?

so a 4s or 5s setup for these helis eh.... another $400 on top of the heli kit itself ?

Check the combo's at http://www.helicopterhobbies.com, it will all prety much do mild 3D. Go with the EX.

The actual transaction is done either by phone or e-mail.

Helihbby.com sells SP only, but you can transact online.

Harold at helicopterterhobbies.com is very accomodating. He's always been a pleasure to deal with. I always get my orders 2-3 days. pretty much all of my orders are done by e-mail. And if I send him an e-mail order before 3 pm, it pretty much get mailed to me the same day.

Castle Creations HV45 esc is the best esc for this heli, and is also what majority are using, got mine from http://www.rctoys.com for $125.
Motors start at about $90 to $120.
You can use Hacker A30 10L up to 5s, or A30 10XL and 8XL with 6s (2x 3s packs with a series connector, use your 20C Trex packs)
Mega 16/25/4 for 3s to 6s.
Z-Power Z-20 for 3s to 5s.
Use either Hitec HS81 or 85 servo's, I use the 85's with metal gears.
Futaba 401 gyro and 9254 full size digital tail.
Take your pick on the receiver.
It does cost a bit more than a Trex with the bigger motor and esc, but its not way out there, and I say its WELL worth it.
I have a Century 3d Pro, a Trex and the QJ, and the QJ is my fave heli.
You can run 3s and just putz around with a very smooth stable heli, or you can run silly things like 9s and its out of sight in 3 seconds lol.
Very very versatile heli.
You can also run the factory stretch kit, this allows you to run up to a max blade size of 470mm.
Naturally you need to pick your components to suit pushing longer blades too.
Just do a search through this forum for video, as there are quite a few.
This is the only kit I ever built that I didnt have to really modify just to put it together, very nice, and not fragile in any way

I got my heli and parts from these guys http://www.totalerc.com
They are Aussies, but brilliant customer service, and the BEST prices you will find.
They sell to the US as well, and on their website they list both US and AU prices, so you know what your up for.
Cheers

hence electronics wise is almost what they use in a trex600 is that right?.... a 6s setup....or just 4s?

cause im looking to get a bigger ship but the trex600 setup cost is just too high for a student to bear

btw gorn: thanks for the info but they dont sell the QJ8 anymore? i love the look of that heli

Yes they do, I was on their web site last night, and I get all my parts from them.
No costs are not the same as Trex 600.
The 600 takes bigger motors, needs at least a 75amp esc, and runs on 6s2p 4200-5000 packs.
The 6s Im talking about is 2 Trex 450 packs with a connecting wire to make them work as 6s.
So you have 2x 2100-2200mah 3s packs wired in series.
This gives you the same MaH of between 2100-2200mah, but instead of being an 11.1v pack, they are now 22.2V.
Trex 600 packs start at $140 and skyrocket up from there.
A 6s 2100 pack for the QJ starts at $80 up to a max of $160 for the best packs around.
Here's a link to the QJ at Totalerc http://www.totalerc.com/zc/index.ph...2&products_id=1

and here for the EX version http://www.totalerc.com/zc/index.ph...&products_id=28

This size heli is the BEST size for E power, without being silly expensive and delivering reasonable flight times.

Yup, I agree with gorn. I have 450Rexie and QJ8. I mostly fly the 8 now. I learn tricks quicker with my 8 than with my 450, owing to its visibility and stability and smoothness. And I fly it mostly at the park.
