Evening all

Here in Manchester (UK) it's been cold crisp and bright today. I test flew my Rex that's just been the benefactor of the carbon fiber frame set. All else remains the same, Align 4300, CC 45 AMP ESC, HS 65s, Ashtek digital tail servo, Futaba 240 gyro.

It was cold this afternoon and three times whilst hovering in the front garden (yard), the motor just cut out.

Any thoughts? It's been a while since I flew but I charged the batteries about 10 days ago.

That's what I thought. Is it a temperature thing? At least you get to practice mini autos!

Hi Alan,

Since you just upgraded to a carbon frame, check that your antenna wires etc are not touching the carbon.

I had issues with my antenna wire on the carbon frame (see my gallery for glitch fix)

I had strange drop outs of power. I had a variety of avenues to follow. Motor issue, tx lockout, glitch... etc. Chased this for quite a while.

This was all at 25C, summer temps here in New Hampshire so it was not a cold thing (for me).

Cheers,
Leslie

Just checked and the aerial is not in contact with the CF anywhere. I'll check my soldered joints in the AM but they were fine in the previous build.

Odd, when it cut out, all I had to do was advance the collective again and it took off with everything normal again....

Until the next time!

PS. Awesome Corsair in your gallery!
