What is the word? How do they compare? Which is most dependable? I've never used PPoles, but have used Deans.

I like PPoles. They are more versatile, and is easier to connect/disconnect. Have 8 pairs in a 40size plank for 10 years and still works well. Deans are more compact though.

Dean's vs Power Poles.....

I have used both of them and prefer the Deans. They are smaller and at first harder to disconnect...but in the long run work great. I even use them to attach my starters to my SLA battery.

Are PPoles a crimp on type connector? It seems like I've seen a crimper. I'm not particularly fond of crimp on connectors but have also seen solder joints fail right behind the solder from fatigue.

you can crimp or solder powerpoles.

in reality, crimping is better when a connector gives you the
choice as long as you use a decent crimper.

The $50 West Mountain crimper is what you want.
