NIM

I was teetering on the fence between the multigove and ATG, but I thought Curtis was a little more established in this industry, so I predicted that he would be around to support his product much longer than a small new company that produces the multigov. I might be wrong here, but Curtis has proven himself in the past. I appears that the multigov is doing the same, but are simply infants in THIS industry.

I liked the programming unit of the multigov, and the price is right. They are not quite as "fit and finish" as the ATG, as they are simply shrink wrapped circuit boards.

The ATG is a snap to set up.

MultiGov was the first dual-mode governor on the market and has been out almost a year now. We've had thousands of high-performance, problem-free flights by customers.

We appreciate the positive comments from our customers.

multigov

I want to keep this thread on topic, so let me restate that I have had great success with the atg. I have no experience with the multigov, even though I was super close to buying one.

I want to be certain to express that I have heard nothing but positive things about the multigov and the manufacturer. Simply stating that they are new to this industry in no way shape or form undermines their product/service. I simply have no firsthand experience with that company, and didn't know anyone personally that did. Therefore, I used the criteria mentioned in my previous post to help me make up my mind.

I almost bought one atg and one multigov to compare, but didn't want to spend the money/time to experiement and sell off one for a loss.
MultiGov was the first dual-mode governor on the market and has been out almost a year now. We've had thousands of high-performance, problem-free flights by customers.
This may be true, but it doesn't mean this isn't your first product to market. I am unaware of anything new you have released since, but I hope there is much more to come.

From a consumer's standpoint you don't have countless years of world champion competition wins, your own line of heli fuel, your own line of mufflers, blades, personalized Vigor line (the CS), or any of the countless products that Curtis has developed and offered the heli community. Curtis is THE icon of r/c helis, and he has a long and productive history. That was important to ME.

Hopefully Aerospire will continue to devolop and release products in the future. I am amazed that a guy can take an idea to turn it into a working marketable product, especially at the caliber of the multigov. It takes an immense amount of money to bring ANY product to market, and I respect anyone that does so. Backing it up with the customer support I have read about Aerospire providing is a good/rare thing to see as well. My hat it off to Aerospire. I want that to be clear.

I would guess Curtis has his ATG on his Helis wrapped underneath all the electronics for many years before releasing it to the public. Maybe someone close to him can confirm that.

MULTIGOV I just set mine up the other night and am getting ready to try it out today. Easy to set up - nice big detachable LCD screen and comprehensive instructions and if you had a TJ previously in your machine the multigove hooks right up no changing magnets or sensor is needed, AND it lets you know if you are actualy getting a good sensor reading right up on the setup screen.

Multigov test today:
Slides smoothly into governor control and maintains headspeed nicely.

Do you have any experience with the GV-1 to offer a comparison of the multigov and futaba unit?

ATG for me

Once I got the ATG governor setup, there was nothing else to it. Keeps my headspeed steady, small footprint, and it doesn't require a tach.

I'm suprised that no one vote for TJ Rev Max. Well I'm on behave of TJ Rev Max did better flying 3D and it can use any servo, meaning , no need for super speed servo to control it.

I was just about to say that! I love my revmax. Dumb easy to setup and seems fine. I would like to know how the ATG is better. I don't really have a use for governer mode, I don't think. I'm really not that educated on how gov mode's advantage over a limiter. Maybe someone could educate me.

geezz it doesn't take a rocket scientist to design a governor,,,

what is smart is designing a governor that can compensate greatly,, from a consumer's standpoint Bob knew what he was doing when he designed the Mutligov, he gave it all the right adjustments, yet with 15 adjustments the Multigov is probably the simplest governor to adjust, you see the number percentage then you push a button to change that percentage, all these adjustments allows you to compensate for slower servos, analog servos and motor power and flying styles ,,

want your heli to respond like a rabbet, the Multigov has an adjustment for the hover point (called HovRthresh), you can smooth-out your hover if you wish or you can set it so your heli responds instantly for super tight 3D, I was quite surprised to see just how well this adjustment works !!

CSM RL20. Cheap and easy to setup. No tach needed either. Also has a small footprint for ease of mounting.
