If the GV-1 is no good for 3D someone should let all the pros know about it.

Of coarse I know how to fly this thing, but if you see me running try to keep up!!

Hi all,
Not sure it I have a dud but I am having problems setting up a Revlock R20 with a Futaba 9CHP. Despite help and sugestions from learned people on this forum (and others) I am no closer to being able to use it. I have emailed the CSM tech department but apart from an initial reply I have not heard further from them. Check out my thread in the "Radio - Servo - Gyro - Gov - Batt" section.

I am waiting on supply here in OZ of the Futaba GV1 which I hope will do the job.

Thanks PaulJC,

As you can see I am a bit frustrated. It's not as if I am new to programming or setting up radios.

The thing I can't change is the "b" led in the setup. Switches, radio settings, channel changes and even TX and RX changes make no difference ! ! !

Why do you think changing the LED to 'B' matters?

It mostly does NOT matter.

The Revlock allows you to have select from any 2 of the 4 possible speed RANGES. That is where the A/B LEDs come into play.

If the speeds you want are all contained within 1 range, then you
never really want the A/B LED to switch (although no real harm will
come if you do).

However, your description of your setup is too vague to attempt to
help you any further.

The GV-1 is an easy to use governor unless you are using a JR transmitter. not impossible.... I just got all the post together on the 9303/gv-1 combo together and figured it out

It's easy. Just pretend it's the simulator...

I say Aerospire Mult-Gov, this is the easiest gov Ive ever set up, work very well, Can be a gov, rev limiter with just a flip of a switch on the transmitter, can run multiple head speeds. Customer service is off the hook! Bob Li has hit a homerun with this product (MHO)

ATG

I have been running the GV-1 for about 7 years. I just sold all five I owned to buy the ATG. I find the ATG holds the headspeed better, prevents overspeeding MUCH better, and recovers quicker when I do bad things with my fingers on the sticks.

I prefer the small size and simple setup. The GV-1 had a long menu that mostly was never used. We have had the lcd display fail, too.

I use to be sold on the GV-1 because it had a low voltage failsafe function that would send the throttle servo to idle if your battery pack dropped voltage. This actually has saved me about 4 times over the years. I had a couple packs that would false peak and check out fine with the voltage checker, but during flight the packs would dump.

Now that I have switched over to lithium packs with voltage regulators, the voltage failsafe found in the GV-1 is useless.

I have also had four bad sensors with the GV-1 in the past two years. One straight out of the box, another after a couple of gallons, and two after a couple of seasons. At the price of the GV-1 sensor alone, $39, I thought the total price of the ATG looked very attractive.

Also, the ATG can be used as a limiter, governor, or combination of both. I have only tried it as a governor, though. It felt like I gained 15% power because the head speed was always there.

As for the top pilots, many of them are forced to fly the GV-1 because they are sponsored by Futaba. Therefore, I don't take "what the pros use" as a very valid arguement. I have seen the "pros" overspeed and bog with the GV-1 just as much as my set up did with the GV-1.

Ditto, I love my ATG and have my Gv-1s up for sale at my LFF. I have flown the GV-1, and when I put my ATG in my 50, because the GV-1 screen went out It was night and day difference! I love that little thing man. Once again Curtis has developed one heck of a product

All the good stuff I've heard about the ATG and we had a guy at our field with one that just couldnt get it to work and went back to his revlock. Expert pilot and the one most of us go to at our field for problems we cant solve so it wasnt a lack of experience.

No ones said anything about the MultiGov you can run it in Gov or limit mode. Easy to set up easy to read with the detachable LCD screen. Has plenty of ways people can tweak it if they want. You program in your gear ratio and them program in the head speed you want. No need for a tach. I like not having to guess with my atvs

Thanks, T.J.
