how Can I get more power from my tt50, I've heard of some guys doing this needle mod or even changing the carb on the tt50, do these mods really make more power (obviouly not like a hyper) how about changing gear ratio? Maybe a pipe? I am planning on getting a hyper but this engine is still fairly new and contrary to popular belive runs very well..Just is low on power. but other than that it starts easy runs well and never given any problems.Any suggestions?

hybrid heli and matching PRIUS!!

Can't tell you about what changing the carb will do for you but I will tell you that the "needle mod" is not done to get more power...... just to help correct a lean mid-range.....

More power can be had by going to a better exhaust such as the CY Muscle pipe or to a true tuned exhaust system....the latter is not for the faint of heart or for those not experienced with their setup...

The other thing you could do is switch to the higher percentage nitro fuels in the 30 % plus range, if you have not done so yet....

Yup, try either a JK Hatori or MPII plus 30% fuel. That's about all you're gonna get from a TT50. They are ok engines but are very underpowered compared to the hyper. The stats don't look that different on paper but the difference in flight is huge IMHO.

a 40e carb from an os 50 will give it more power and make it more consistent, ive done it a few times, its not a straight carb swap though, theres a few mods that have to be done to make it work, it still wont be a hyper, but it will gain some power.

how'd the ground come up like that ?

I found that with a TT50 the most powerful setup I have run is to go to the stock Raptor 30 gearing and run the High Ratio muscle pipe made for the JR Voyager and Venture if you can still find one. These pipes were designed for a 9.5 gear ratio. Run 30% nitro and 600mm blades.

The obvious answer is of course to put a Hyper 50 in it.

Russel deakin Mod to low side needle for raptor50 v2

The tip is 0.8mm and the taper is a straightline taper for 2.5mm's back into the needle...

At 2.5mm the needle is the original size... 1mm thick
I did this to one of my 50's V2 and it really does work very well. it now really wants to go straight up like a rocket. Put the needle in a drill and using a fine file turn it down slowly and watch the magic. I done #2 Raptor now and I did get a second needle from Clark at just in case I screwed up and went to far but I did not. This works VERY well .
This is the Mod thet are talking about. This is a no brainer mod and very easy. Why pay more for this when you can doit your self.

As Juan already said the mod needle does not add anything to the power of the engine. It only cures the lean mid-range run and makes tunning a little bit easier.
