Freya 90 heli is a great machine, so is the T rex 600 so i hear, but they are in different class to each other, if its a case of money ie only one heli......then stay with the 90, until you have had enough, dont give up a nice machine like that.

good luck with either way you choose.

I have both.

The 600 is nice, but is in NO WAY a FREYA!!!! Keep the Freya!!! Make it an EVO if its not already.

600=Hyundai
Freya=Ferrari

I fly both, the freya evo is a good all round machine and always puts a smile on my face
The Trex 600 is a good heli and flies well, but doesn't provide the same WOW factor that a 90 size nitro ship does.

Wow factor, as in size difference? Or power/flight characteristics?

Power!! Its more precise, the parts and kits made by Hirobo are top quality. The Freya is the base of the Avant. The Freya is a FC3 capable machine. It has won some championships too. Great 3D machine too.

Follow the directions and it will hover and 3D perfect out of the box. Just like all Hirobo kits. Plus Jeff Green is another reason to fly Hirobo. Electrify the Freya!!

Just add a T-Rex to the fleet... Keep the Freya for sure! You don't want to let a really nice Nitro go! I guess unless you want 5-6 minute flight times with an electric. It's always nice to have a heli that you can fly until you are tired of flying it (Nitro...IMHO)

I don't think they are saying the 600 has problems out of the box. They are saying that the freya is a big heli with presence and power and will fly full tilt 3D for 10 minutes on a tank of fuel.

The 600 will go for 6 minutes beating the heck out of it.

In the end you are comparing a 50 size heli to a 90 size heli and while you might try in the end you will find out they are too different to compare.

true, but for the money you put into a Freya, you could get a wicked 8-10S setup on a 600.. just my opinion... I'm just happy I got this bird in the air...

Having a new heli in the air is a good feeling, isn't it.

For the sake of discussion lets look at the costs. Keeping in mind that for the most part the electronics will be the same.

Freya
airframe 600
engine 325
pipe 110
blades 100
1135

600
airframe 500
blades 75
balancer 100
charger 200
battery 225
1100

Now granted with the battery you have fuel and the freya doesn't, but you are also risking all your fuel everytime you fly. And with one battery you will fly 6 minutes cool 30 charge 45 and fly again. So you have to get another battery to make flying fun again rather than waiting on a charger. But you don't have to have a starter and glow plug, either.

Well heck, we can go on and on, but my point is for initial buy in the price is not that much different.

Like I said posting for the sake of discussion, not to start a war.

I've found the perfect combination running my Freya Evo 90 and a TREX 45SE. I just don't need any other helis. I have the best of both worlds (nitro and electric) and I can fly almost anywhere with TREX 450. The 600 is not so good for the fly anywhere situation. The TREX 450 performance is amazing for such a tiny machine

Yea, price is very debateable because there are so many hidden costs that no one really takes into account... they both have their pros and cons, that's for damn sure. I like the fact that I can fly, then just chuck my heli in my car when I'm done... everyone else that I fly with (pretty much all nitro guys) have to go over their helis with denatured alcohol to wipe off any excess oil. And making sure your engine runs right... blah... I dunno, the 600 is BRAND NEW for me, so I'm yet to experience its growing pains... I am DEFINITELY gonna get a larger sized nitro heli also, most likely a Freya, but that's not gonna be for a good long while after I am elected emperor of the world, so I'm not really holding my breath at this point... At the end of the day, it's really about what the pilot prefers...
