Hello All,

This is my first post on runryder.com!

I just bought a DX7 for my T-Rex and I was wondering how many of you are using the stock AR7000 reciever on your 'Rex? I know they have the new AR6100 which is 6 channel and uses DSM2 technology. Any of you using that smaller reciever?

Just wondering...thanks for your input!

I used the 7000. I am now using the 6000 1nd 6100 with good results. That 6100 sure is a cute little toy. It will fit anywhere.

Thanks for the advice!

Nice 'copter dday27! It's a little hard to tell from your pictures, are both antennas of the AR7000 mounted on the angled part, abutted to each other? So you put your battery below this? I have always seen the battery mounted on this sloping platform...

Just wondering as I'm still in the building/buying stage of my T-Rex build!

Thanks!

accelerator: Nice 'copter!

One thing I didn't mention... Until a few weeks ago, I have NEVER had any problems with my DX6, not one GLITCH! Then, when we had this very cold weather in southern California, I had an issue. See this thread:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=626655

I went flying yesterday w/out the fleece jacket and I thought my problems were solved. I ran a few packs through and no problems. Then when I was about to throw my EZ* in the air, it went dead, just like before. However, this time I was able to push the "bind" button in the back and the green light went out. It appears that it wasn't my transmitter screwing up this time, it was the reciever!

So that was one of the reasons I bought this DX7 so that I can bind to some of my AR6000 recievers to see if I have any problems. We still think it's partially an ESD problem. W/out the fleece/polyester jacket I was still able to fly.

Very frustrating when it seems you're the only one having a problem with this. As a precaution, I'd suggest that you don't use your DX7 w/ a fleece/polyester jacket...

lovespicyfood- very interesting that thread. The whole premise behind this spektrum thing is the lowering or eliminating of radio interference. If it is ESD then it makes it hard to control. Just about all our clothes now have polyester in then unless it is a 100% cotton tee!

accelerator: Yea, no kidding! I would say that that fleece jacket I was wearing was SUPER PRONE to ESD. First off it was 100% polyester and secondly, it was the "pile" type fabric that just collects ESD super easily. I would walk around in my house w/ socks and this jacket and it would spark off big time when I grounded my hand on anything...

Needless to say, I still believe in the technology w/ the purchase of my DX7, but this strange and cold and dry weather in southern CA shouldn't last much longer...

Regards!

I am using the 6100 and it works great. I put it on the lower forward tray with one of the antannas sticking out the bottom where the canopy is cut out. No problems so far and I am VERY happy with the setup. The 6100 should work perfectly since you cant fly the 450 very far anyway or you will loose orientation quickly.

I have the 7000 receiver on my TRex 600, using the 6100 and the 6000 on my Trex 450s. They're much better size wise. Sure you can use the 7000 but it's a little overkill. If you don't have the 6000, I would recommend the 6100 because it's so small and cute as has been said earlier.

I have my receivers on the back of the bottom tray:

i AM using the AR7000 in my 450se..mounts great..theres plent of room in this bird. I mounted the main receiver in the back and the remote uo front underneath the batter holder. Im new to this heli stuff and to computer radios...i have a few questions on the set-up of the dx7.

I got everything set in the normal mode..it all works fine. I connot figure out how to set up the pitch curves for stunt 1 and stunt 2. I cant seem to get the blades to pitch in the downward direction for inverted flight..can someone please explain this to me, i read the manual but only some things make any scense to me. secondly in normal mode at full throttle im reading somewhere around 11.5 degrees of pitch..is this normal or too much. I havent flown this heli yet but i shred face on G3 with an MX400 so im dyin to get this thing set up right!

go big, go fast....or go home

I'd direct you to the other forum site Heli_Freak and check out Fin_Less' videos. They're very informative. (just take out the "_"
