Want to start off into nitro and wanted your opinions if a 60 would be a good starter or the 90 standard? take it as a new kid on the block who has to learn tuning the engine, repairing the engine and the whole wide gamut that goes along with it. Any info??? Thanks

I'd start with a 50 (in fact I did). The 90 is more expensive to fix and, we'll, it'll scare you a little in the beginning...it's a big machine. Anyway, if your dead set on the larger airframe you may as well go 90.

No, no, no. New to Nitro's - go Rappy 50. Cheaper to fly and repair and awesome power to weight with a Hyper 50 in it. You'll know when you're ready for a 90.

Me and many other RR members will agree

RAPTOR 50

50 because: Its cheaper all around, to get it running AND crash costs are lower. There are some nice set up 50s out there with more than enough power to get you into some advanced to extreme 3D. 50 Titan is the one to get I think, and just get your self a metal head and its gonna be cheaper than a 50SE. As for motor most common is 50 hyper. As for necessary upgrades. SUS tal Hub PV0499 is a must. As well as replacing the stock fuel tubing.

Unless you get a KILLER deal on a full set up 90, get a 50 hands down.

I like the 90's
You will always want a 90 in your mind
and their is nothing like a 90 in the air
(except a turbine) more expessive in a crash yes
More fuel yes But down the road you'll be glad
I say get a real Helicopter right off!

I would say get a 50 Titan and then get a 90 later. Besides, you will become extremely addicted like everyone else here to this hobby and will have mulitple choppers!

Just remember with 90's you get more maintenance, increased parts index, and greater repair costs, if you got those calculated go 90 all the way and forget about a 60

Go with a 90... more stable and better power to weight.... or get what you can afford.

My first nitro was an MA 60, still have it, tons of power, really smooth great to fly.... But..... Aside from burning more fuel nothing has helped my flying more than a raptor 30! Longer flight times, really forced me to "manage my collective" and unlike the MA I'm not afraid to push my flying and try new things because it's much cheaper hit the ground.

If money was no problem I wouldn't fly anything but a big heli. Since it is I love my 30.
