Can a Deans connector be installed on the Rx battery to allow for rapid charging instead of using the included wall charger? There are three wires on the stock "servo connection" but I am assuming that only two are being used. Am I right in this assumption? Obviously, I would have to change the Rx side of the connection as well as the battery side. Thanks for your help and input.

Red is Positive, Black is negative and Orange is not connected. Break out the soldering iron and wire strippers.

Out of curiousity...
Why wouldnt you make a connector to adapt the batt to the deans, it would make more sense than soldering the switch and the batt.

Regards, Matt.

Right - I cut the charge wire off my old DX6/7 wall charger and and attach it to my nimh quick charger - No need to change plugs etc - Do make sure your charger handles NiMHs and not just NiCDs.

I've been using the small 3 pin Deans connectors on my RX batteries for years. It's a much more reliable connector. The red lead is the center (just like the original) and black is one of the outside pins. This way it's polarized and can't be connected wrong. This also allows you to use a surface mounted deans jack for your charge jack. Works much better than the OEM style charge jack mount.

Oh I misread RX for TX - But I'd still do it the same - If you change the leads on your RX packs then you'll have to change the connections on your power switch and will no longer be able to plug the battery strait into the RX and I wouldn't change the charge lead on the power switch either or you'll no longer be able to use a DSC cable for programming as it uses that third signal wire to drive the servos - Just cut the charge lead off your wall wart charger to use with your quick charger and avoid all that other hassle.
