My new fiberglass canopy.

....Ahhhh Fiberglass. Painting it is sooo much easier. This is all with spray cans.

What kind of spray cans did you use? Did you do any overcoat or anything?

I washed the canopy, and sanded with 220 grit such that when I rinsed it the water would not bead (broke the surface tension).

Then a couple coats of white clearcoat (this is the first canopy that I used regular Krylon type paint and not that overpriced stuff from the hobby shop). Then a couple coats of the Yellow Fluorescent (Krylon) on top, a couple coats of Orange Fluorescent on bottom, and then some automotive clearcoat (from the auto parts store). I used the entire can of clear.

I did not sand between coats. The initial sanding was sufficient.

The only thing I might do different next time is to use Auto Engine clearcoat to stand up to nitro better.
