Just received my AirFoil Aviation’s Mini Pro 1 camera mount. I have to admit I put off purchasing this mount because I thought $600.00 sounded pretty steep for a camera mount. After seeing the quality and craftsmanship put into this product, this mount is a real bargain! The quality of the construction beginning with the welding, choice of mechanical materials down to the cutting of the foam on the skids, this mount reeks of quality in design and production. Can’t wait to fly it. Thanks AirFoil for offering such a quality product.

I'm working with the Airfoil MiniPro too, very excited!
Due to the bad weather conditions, I made just some test hoovering.

I have two questions to the more experienced MiniPro Users:
- Is it possible to screw the heli directly down to the MiniPro with some self made adapters, instead of the ruber strings? Or would there be an issue with vibrations?

- What's the cameras weight limit with a stock T-Rex 600 on top of the MiniPro? Does it lift 600gram?

thanks , I did'nt want to start drilling holes in the mount , it is truly a work of art. I have not had it in the air yet due to weather also I have got to test fly the trex 600 and a freya to finalize setups(tracking, etc.) then look out .

Mine came in at 4lbs 4oz. w/ the Sony V3. John says his came in at 3lbs 14oz. I'd like to get mine down to that but I don't have a clue how. I'm running a small 2S lipo to power everything on the carrier, my Range Video downlink is uncased, etc, yet I'm still over 4lbs.

You can cut the cables to lenth and also all the servo leads , but your only 6 oz away from johns rig .I would be happy there at your weight. Mine is going to much more as my camera (cannon 3Sis ) is pretty heavy , but the trex 600 should not have any problems lifting it from what I have read.
Just my 2 cents, and good luck with the weight loss

Video of Airfoil MiniPro1 in the Air

We proudly present you a demo video of the Aifroil MiniPro1 in the air. Its hard-mounted under a stock T-Rex. We left all unused parts like skids and cabin away. With this setup we get safe 8min flight time out of the 4.2Ah Lipo.

The smale shakes of the mount are due to a receiver-failure, we had to replace it, now the mount moves very smoothly.

The cam makes very mad movements, because the camera man had to operate the video cam in its hand and the mount rc.

Ueli, after looking your video, looks like your mount has some small glitching problems... do you have PCM rx on your mount?

Hi Panomaniac,

Your right.
It was the PPM receiver on the mount. I've taken this receiver from a crashed model and thought, it would do fine on the mount. It didn't.
Now it's replaced by a new one, there are no more glitches.

Pyrock,

the cam you can see on the mount is a Olympus SP-700, a small Point-and-shoot 6MP that works not bad for AP but has no manual controls.
The videos from the ground are taken with a Sony MiniDV camcorder.
Some videos from the air are taken with the Canon G7 in video mode.

That was, before we received the Panasonic HDC-SD1 HiRes cam. Now we work only with the HDC-SD1 for video and the Canon G7 for still pictures.
Both cams fit well to the MiniPro1.
The Panasonic cam is triggered by gentLed.

A sample video with the HDC-SD1 is available here: http://www.remotevision.ch/images/S..._LowQuality.wmv

As you can see, the setup works very well. It's very difficult to make videos with the TRex600 because of it's size. A lot of stabilization in post processing is needed.
