I'm looking at converting my L10 to the 0.7 mod main gear and I notice that there are two versions of the drive pully, Mik3001 and Mik3048. the 3048 is described as "anti-static" - What exactly does this mean? Is it a different material, different dimensions, number of teeth, etc. Does it actually prevent any static charge/discharge?

It's only a couple of bucks difference, so if the anti-static version is any better I'll get that one, but I'm curious to know if anyone has experience with these two items. Thanks!

Esprit models

I called the guy at Esprit models (they had both versions in stock), he said they were identical in size, teeth, and overall appearance. Supposedly there's a higher carbon content in the anti-static version that makes it more conductive and discharges belt static into(or away from) the boom. Whether or not this actually works I don't know, but it was only $2 more for the anti-static version.

That's what I thought as well

I ordered the anti-static (Mik3048) version. If two dollars prevents me from having to chase down a glitch, it's worth it!

I have been curious about this new antistatic pulley too. Wonder what the theory behind it is and if it will prevent static build up without doing any other mods?
