Shipping costs are one thing, but then there's dealers that also have "handling" charges. I'm the owner of a certain make of helicopter that the only way to get parts is to go straight to the manufacturer. Here's a couple examples of what I pay for parts, and I always request the most economical shipping method. Two snap rings, $3.95, total charge with shipping and "handling" $10.00. Two tail ball links, cost $4.95, total charge with shipping and "handling" $11.00. Rubber canopy grommets (8), can't remember the exact cost, approximately six or seven dollars, the handling alone was $7.00, plus shipping. And the grommets are not included with the purchase of a canopy, you have to order the grommets separately, which I didn't know until after I purchased the canopy. Do the words gouging and rip-off sound familiar? It's an expensive hobby, no problem, I'm well aware of that, as we all are, but this way of doing business is just plain wrong.
