On my 90SE, I have the ys91, I noticed a leak starting at the grommet for the clunk line. I am wondering if this is due to the high pressure the tank is under? Is there anything that will seal a new tank to prevent this? has anyone had this problem?

Flip the grommet over so the large part goes inside the tank

Although I have never owned a 91, I did run a 61 and do run a YS 110 on a "plank".....

As you know, these motors do develop a lot of pressure in the tank as evidenced by the "PSSSSSST" when purging after a flight..... So, yes..... that is a contributing factor as most tanks are not designed to withstand those pressures....

The only thing you could do is to make sure there is no plastic flashing from the moulding process left at the opening of the tank where the grommet goes...... Take a piece of sandpaper to smooth out that area......

The other thing you could do is to retro fit that tank with a tank designed for the YS's...... unfortunately, TT does not make such an animal but I know that Tetra does..... I'm running one designed for the plank YS's motors and the stopper/grommet/clamp arrangement is unbelievable.... and bullet proof ! The plastic used in these tanks is also almost double the density of a "standard" tank.......

While you can get away with a leaky tank in your heli, having one burst or leak inside a plank fuselage will definitely ruin your day !

East coast extreme helis has a fuel tank stopper designed for the YS91. I'm currently using it in my 90SE and it works very well.

I think I came up with a solution. I used shoe goo sealant on the outside of a new tank (not oily already). I think It should work.

Get a small O-ring and place it between the grommet and the fitting exterior end. It snugs up the grommet compression removing the leak. Try your local plumbing store for faucet o-rings. Works on header tanks too.

If you don't mind spending a little bit of cash, grab the fuel tank stopper from Infinavation for the 90SE. Works like a charm.
