i currently own a jr 6102 ( first radio) and i was thinging about upgrading to a newer radio, whats up with this dx7-- is that good enough for the trex and other gas heli's .. and also what the D/R AND THE EXPO ALL about on the jr 6102---- i mean can someone explain it... i know the expo slows the movement of the servo until about half way mid stick, but what happens after mid stick?> and how does this Expo work?

and last--- whats should be the next radio for me? thanks

DX7 has been getting pretty good reviews. I flew a pattern plane with one and a trainer though I havent flown one installed in a heli yet. Except for it weighing next to nothing and feeling strage because it was so light it appears to be a good radio.

Dual rates allow you to set a smaller total throw, the net result is you get a softer feeling around center and a slower control response at full stick than high rates. So at full stick on low rate your aileron rolls would be noticably slower.

Expo lowers your response around center but still gives you full throw at the extremes, it doesnt just "catch up" at half stick but the farther you move the stick the more percentage of throw you get. Most people run around 20 to 30 perecent on the cyclics so hovering is smooth but they dont need switch flipping to do aerobatics.

ok , so what your saying is that on my trex 450 -- to tame it down some all i need to do is add expo to the cyclic? 20 to 30 percent. right.. and also well i guess i dont need dual rates on the trex.. .. and when you say dual rates u mean

in position 1 on d/r

i can only move servo travel so far and so fast

and then in position 2

i can move the travel all the way and as fast as it would go?

am i correct with this?
