Well, I was trying to straighten my tail boom earlier (t-rex 450) and shoved a dowel into it. The dowel took the shape of the boom...

So, basically it was extra stuck (because of the little bow in it)....Here's the best part, I (for some odd reason) put water down the boom and within 10 minutes the wood sucked it up like a sponge. I saw that the entire thing had bulged... (don't even ask what I was thinking putting the water in there)

I think I get the 'awesome-est/most inteligent thought' of the day award

GREAT IDEA!

That way it would burn the dowel out

Please note i am not responsible for you actually trying this and would reccomend that if you do, then do it in a Nuke-Proof bunker on pluto. ME NOT RESPOSIBLE

Wow, that was pointless but somewhat funny...

Not as bad as 'hot starting' a brand new R90SE...turning my clutch liner into a bunch of green dust in 2 sec flat.

put it in the freezer. let water freeze, fix boom. then stick it outside on hot day, water evaporates, wood shrinks, metal gets hot, expands.

Rhett..... I can't fly, but the Profi sure can.

Always found the best way, find a socket{out of toolkit} that fits into tail boom.Attach to long extension and gently tap it from one end to the other.Look at my handle, always works for me.

Tried that,

And didn't have a socket small enough. Anyway, I had to break the dowel where the boom ends, then just drill into the wood till it broke apart..

LOL booms are cheap.... But sticking a wooden dowel up your boom doesn't sound like such a good idea
