I have a Raptor 50 nitro and a Raptor E620 SE that I can use for AP work at this time, Looking towards a GSR260 eventually. I have been looking at mounts for the 50's and I'm thinking strongly on the Mini-Pro 1 to get my feet wet in the business. I have a Sony DSC N-1 but I don't think that would do. I want to run a video downlink system. I like the Sony V3 7.2 John shows on the Mini-Pro 1 setup on his site. I'm not familiar with this camera. From what I see on his site there is a downlink, so I'm sure the camera is capable of that, can a electronic trigger be hooked to it also? Not sure of the right term (trigger), I'm receiving the AP book for a birthday present but I cant look at it for 2 weeks yet. Is this camera a good choice, for the money is there another I should consider that will attach to a downlink and can be electronically triggered?

Any info would be appreciated, I've been flying heli's 3D for 5 years. I've always had an interest for the AP aspect of the hobby. A little side money sounds nice also.

Thanks in advance...

Rick

We have had great success with the V3, have been shooting with it for over a year.
Most of the pictures on our web site have been taking with that camera.

Before you buy a mount you might also look at helicam solutions. they have a mount for a 50 size machine that starts at $199. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the nicer mini pro from airfoil, but it might be a cheaper alternative...too make sure you're really up to AP before you spend a lot of dough.

Most of the samples on my website were made with the predecessor to the V3, my V1. It works well on my gasser. I made an electronic switch for it using Sony's wired remote(hacked) and a rc switch connected to my mount's receiver. Do a search here on Sony camera triggers.
