MadCityMan suggested the idea to me, that I write and compose a RR song.

since I lack in the creativity and originality part, I thought it would be interesting to have a song written by the RR Regulars.

I will be the guy singing and playing guitar.

PM me with your SHORT ideas for lyrics. Multiple entries are fine.

I guess what I want to shoot for, is a song about the RR Community and it's members, and of course heli's.

Myself and MadCityMan will take the best lyrics, and partially rearrange them to fit the song.

The finished product will be posted on youtube, then posted to this very thread.

Please use the PM system for the ideas, as the end result will be a surprise to everyone.

Occasionally "bump" or TTT this thread, to help me keep it on the main page.

I hope to have a finished product by the end of the weekend.

You know how the Jedburg field is after a good rain. Picture this... Axle Rose singing
Welcome to our mud hole
We meet here only on Sundays
We fight with plankers
When they try to have it all thier way

Welcome my son, Welcome to the machine

I dunno about the lyrics, but I bet the video will have so much product placement you won't even be able to see the band.

I think this song may have to be done to the music of, "Suicide is Painless" (theme from M*A*S*H)

What style are you most comfortable singing in? Rock? Blues? Country?

Do you want parody lyrics to an existing song or something entirely new?

Knowing DJB78, and having written many songs with him myself... I would say that you could classify his style of music as a fusion of R&B and Bluegrass.

While it would be easy to create parody lyrics to another song, I really think this needs to be an original. And it should be something catchy enough that I want to use it as a ringtone on my cellphone.

Dood, no way!

Any style, really. I am pretty comfortable doing Rock. I can pull off a slick Neil Diamond impression, and I also bear an uncanny resemblence to Donnie Osmond (see gallery)

Parody is fine. Entirely new is fine. Whatever it is, I can pull it off.

Sorry, but for now, This will be one guy with one guitar for now.
I may record using a multi track, ad Drum Machine, etc, or just do it solo acoustic. I doubt it will be compulsory.

I doubt it. My goal is to have a song that is pretty funny. Nothing professional, just a fun song with a catchy hook. Thats all I am going for.

This is YOUR SONG, RunRyder. This may be one of the first ever Group written songs, that was put together on a forum.

YOU GUYS WRITE THE LYRICS, NOT ME. THAT IS WHY I NEED THE PM'S. PLEASE, KEEP THEM COMING

This is all true. MCM and I were roommates in college. Him and I wrote "Big Fat Mommy Cakes" together. We were both drunk.

Let's hear it! Is it anything like Spinal Tap's "Big Bottom?"

Foo was a mega-posting teenager who posted pics of a clear plexiglass shield that he used in his teenie, tiny backyard to keep him safe. The rest is internet history.

Nothing at all. If you take some of the really weird Beatles stuff and mix it with Cat Stevens, Jimi Hendrix, and Peter Paul and Mary... That is what is sounds like. I don't think we actually have a recording of it, but we really should put it to tape as it was always a party fav.

"Pound on the floor some more, You !@#$$, !@#$@#!$, #@$@!#$$!!!!!"

Gimbal,

Big Fat Mommy Cakes:

Eric and I lived in an upstairs apartment of a 2 story complex. Below us, were these three girls. 1 was fat, 1 was ugly, the other girl was pretty hot, but a total bitch.

If we made the slightest noise, the hot girl would beat on her ceiling with a stick.

Since we were just upstairs "jamming" at the time, a spontaneous song busted out, that included the lyrics, "knock on the floor some more, you F&*#$ING W&%$RE, Bitch! Of course, it made no sense, Since him and I were totally wasted at the time.

And it really was a party favorite.

This'll make it a lot tougher to generate responses, but it's doable.

DJB78 and I just need ideas and classic stories from this forum. We can take these ideas and stories and put them to music. We just need the stories and ideas.

Dood, no way!
