Well, I thought I had the waggles fixed but they returned in this cold weather..I have been following this thread and had some input along with many others and have done all the suggestions..Today I tightened the belt and it all went away..Could all this been related to some tension variances and harmonics on the belt? Would a standing wave on the belt change the rotational speed of the tail shaft? I would like to know if tightening the belt has worked for anybody else..

Belt

I think that is just one more reason that may cause the tail to wag.

My belt is tight. It has been from the very beginning and the tail wag did go away in two ways...
Orininal T/R
This latest solution of griding the outer retaining washer or ring.

I don't think everyone is going to have the exact same set of problems for every tail rotor condition.

As I mentioned earlier my raptor tail was wagging due to a sloppy control lever.

How did you control the outter bearing race to grind it circumferentially?

I used a vice at one corner then rotated it to the oppisite corner.-Used a dremel

2. If you are very careful (ware safety glasses) Use vice grip needle nose and hold it that way then rotate. It does not need to be perfect.

Problem Fixed

Thanks Art for the Credit. I am glad it worked. Yes I have built many trex600 for customers and I have put many new tail mods on also and on every one of them I have had to mod the outside diameter of the Thrust bearing race that has the smaller inside diameter(furtherst from the hub). Now go enjoy your new tail mod.

Good luck everyone.

Any ? just PM for details to the Fix.

Your Welcome Guys

Let me know if you guys have any other problems. I have been through it most more than likely. Glad the fix is working for everyone. You might want to give ANDY a call at assurance to let him know what the fix was and what then problem was. This way it is documented more than once.

Glad I could help!!!

I opened the new tail up for inspection today just for the heck of it.
It wasn't wagging but I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about anyways. Sure enough, the thrust cup washer is rubbing in the plastic grip.
Dremeled it down really quick and slipped everything back together.

Also note that align installed the inner bearing race cage with the opening facing outward. If you fill it with grease and turn the opening inward, it will retain more grease

Only took 5 minutes and it's all back together now.
Just a bit smoother than before it seems mechanically.

Did any of you tried putting a different brand TAIL HOLDER????

Can anyone recommend any other tail holder than aligns? Did any of you tried putting a different brand on the T600

Thanks

and 10 years later the bearing grinding worked for me.
I detailed the fix of my HK600 on RC Groups. Since then I've checked other helis in my fleet and found most of the clones have outer thrust races too large.
Grinding the races 0.2mm undersize has made a lot of my helis fly much smoother and fixed the bad tail wag on my EXI/HK600.

I was actually shocked not more info was discussed on this. seems this is one of the only threads I found on the subject.
