I believe there is a conversion kit, but it's just as easy to scrounge the parts.

Aside from the engine and muffler, you will need a new motor mount and gears. The standard R-50 gear is 10/85 (8.5:1); the new gear set is an 11/96 (8.73:1) - it has a different pitch. I have a set of the new gears, but haven't had any decent weather to fly them yet. The new gears are supposed to put the Hyper 50 in a better power band.

The only other thing you need is the longer tail boom, braces, and drive belt - plus the longer blades. You could also go with the Push-pull collective, but I left mine stock. My heli flies fine and I didn't feel the need right now.

My beloved O.S. 32F-H died after twelve years (and three helis), so I converted my 30V2 to a Titan.

Enjoy,

Ron

30 to 50 upgrade kit

The most cost effective way is to get a 30V2 to 50V2 upgrade kit. The 50 engine and while you are at it the 50 size clutch also. Then later (or if you have a crash) buy a Titan Tail Boom & belt along with other parts you may replace and you are good to go.

It is advisable to have a metal swash plate and a metal head hub if you will be doing any 3D or aerobatics with the 50 size machine.

In the last 4 weeks I have built from scratch

1. Raptor 30 V2 now actually making it a 50V2
2. Raptor 50V2
3. Raptor 50SE
4. Hyper Raptor Titan 50, this is mine.

I have them all in my office right now. So if anyone needs special comparasion pictures between these helis please pm me. I think I will have them till next Friday when the guys come to get them.

So many years wasted on plankers...!!!!

The clutch (P/N BV0589) is the same for the Raptor 30v2, 50v2, and 50 Titan. Unless yours is burned out, keep it along with your stock clutch bell. Thunder Tiger lists a new clutch bell for the Titan (PV0506), but none of us can see any difference between this unit and the older clutch bells. If your current setup is working, just change the pinion.

You will have to get a 50 fan unit (BV0143). Sorry, I forgot that one in my list. I agree, the conversion kit may be cheaper in total but they are scarce around here.

I also agree about the metal swashplate. All of my Raptors came with this already. The metal head block is also nice, but it depends where you are on the learning curve.
