Colin, this is from the Edmheli.ca site for the SHAG event.

Alrighty guys. We have started the planning for SHAG '07, the format will be the same a non-competitve funfly to kick off the flying season. May 5 & 6 will be the dates this year. Kevin Bates will be the Contest Director, so we can look forward to some changes and innovations.

We are also looking for ideas that will make SHAG, bigger, and more attractive. We want to keep the main focus to promoting the hobby, and helping out those flyers who are still challenged by the learning curve. We are discussing the following ideas and any and all input is appreciated.

1) Making it a 3 day event (Fri, Sat, Sun)
2) A Setup Session if there is enough intrest
3) One on One Flying / Setup Time
4) An evening indoor venue for some electric smackdown

This is also a good time to let us know where, we scored, and missed with all the other aspects of the event
1) Food
2) Site
3) Safety concerns, TX Compound/Freq Control

Dave will have the website up shortly and we'll have the details up as we sort them out. Circle the dates on your calenders and we'll see everybody at the flightline.

Colin,

You mentioned stock motor and esc earlier.

Can you comment on the lipo battery brand and rating, swash servos make and model, gyro and tail servo make and model, pinion gear selection, esc setup parameters, and head speed?

Any long term test results for parts wearing out (swash, control linkages, etc)?

Thanks.

Hi Tron,

I'm using the ESC in it's non governed mode, and have the 13 tooth pinion on the motor. I honestly have not tached my headspeed, but I'm ruinng a curve of 100,90,90,90,100. The batteries I'm flying are the Thunder Power 2070 mah 3-cell eXtreme packs (25C discharge). I'm using the futaba 401 gyro with the 9650 servo on the tail, and airtronics 94091's on the swashplate. The washout loosned up during the first few flights as they do on all machines, but I've had no wear issues.

Colin,

Thanks for the quick reply. Have you had or know of other TT pilots experience with the ACE 1016 servos, the new tail servo (model?), and the ace lipo packs?

I've heard good things about the 1016 servos, and hope to try a set soon. I have not heard any reports on the tail servo or batteries as of yet though.

Cheers,

Colin
