I would say "no". The TMRF motor mount bolts to the integrated cooling shroud in the standard plastic Evo/SDX frame. The Evo 50 EX frame doesn't have the shroud, and therefore there is no way to mount the TMRF motor mount.

You could use the new Hirobo e-conversion kit for the SDX, as that kit uses the normal engine mount points.

I thought so...being left with e hirobo's option kinda makes it less 'agile' bird although the blue bling factor adds more flavour to the whole kit!! unless i can change the motor to a llower kv rating wud b nice! (i even tried with tmrf eagle3 motor mount...still wont fit coz its the same width...
I wonder if the clutch system will b any good
..i mean will there b any drastic changes or differences compared to e usual direct motor to gear transmission..??

Search around. Someone here on RR did a fairly easy E conversion of an Evo EX within the past two years or so.

I did the conversion on my Freya EX and the Sceadu EX to electric. On the Sceadu, I used the Align 700E conversion mount from Scorpion and drilled the 4 outboard holes in the Hirobo lower carbon frame-set. This is an easy mod that is not reversible for cosmetic reasons. I added a lower carbon tray across the skids and use either a 5S or 6S pack. The primary balance is perfect without the battery. If you want more info on the motor and gearing let me know. Since this is not a setup for 3D, I have elected not to use a top bearing mount with the current layout, but you could.

-Richard.

P.S. I have been flying the Sceadu EX a lot at the Sea World electric only field in San Diego, a very smooth helicopter that loves to hover.

I use a Dremel small green stone that has the same diameter for 3MM screws.

I am using the Scorpion HK-4020 @ 910 KV with an 11T Scorpion pinion.

Do u mind taking a closeup pix of the airframe...focusing on the motor mount, drilled holes on the frames and the allowance between pinion and the motormount..

The big slots were from the previous motor and the mount that I had adapted during the first conversion, much before we had so many different KV options. This Sceadu has been quite the test mule through the years.

Here are my conversions using a Century electric conversion mount, 5mm prop adapter, Scorpion 4025-630kv with 5mm shaft, all running through the clutch and are now all installed in scale fuselages. I have done three Evo's and three SDX's and about to do another SDX and I just built another Evo, might keep this one nitro. They all fly great and I get about 5-7 minutes on a single 6S 5000mah lipo. As you can see you only have to drill four extra small holes for the mount. If you have the parts on hand, it only takes about an hour and you have an electric Evo or SDX....
