TPX 2070 4S or TPX 2200 4S?

Also, do you still need a BEC if you use a Jazz and 4S?
Either battery will work just fine. I would probably choose the 2070 due to lower weight.

The Jazz BEC is capable of of handling 4S but the output voltage is 5V. If you would like max performance out of the gyro and cyclic servos then using a separate BEC with 6V is the way to go. I use the Medusa 2A BEC and it works great. The switching BEC is also more efficient than a conventional linear BEC which "burns off" the excess voltage.

HOLY $@!%!!!

I bought two TPX 2200 4S and all I can say is WOW!
My TP 2100 was at 90% throttle and 3240 RPM and 13t pinion. The TPX 2200 4S battery with 11t pinion (will be buying 10t and 9t) at 50% throttle and 3000 RPM and it does not bog down! 4S from now on

MREUS, 1107-2Y? If so watch for the wear point. Meaning this motor seems to have a point of flights where the power starts to be well,,, just not as there. I don't know why, just happened to 2 of mine on 4S. Currently trying the JGF 500th and it is amazing, on 4S I will try it with 10 and 11 tooth, I think it will smoke the NEU hands down, on 3S it is just a small bit less power than the NEU on 4S, and I am not kidding.

That's what I did and there was a pretty significant difference. Less bogging and more umph compared to the Pro Lites. I have a Low Voltage alarm and if I did FF back flips half way through the pack, the alarm would go off briefly indicating a drop in voltage. With the TPX 2200, there is no such drop for obvious reasons. My next step may be to try the Medusa 28-40-3400 for more umph.

The FlightPower 2170mah slimline packs are more powerfull and consitent than the TP 2200s'. Noticeably.

Thanks for the info. That is the motor I run. I am returning to NEU the old motor as the bearing came loose and the shaft could wiggle back and forth...it still flew though.

I do AP from my TREX 450SE too, so the 4S should help when I am coming down for a landing with all of that weight...the 3S's were a little scarey.

So it looks like the JGF 500th and Medusa are other motors I also have to check out for my 4S setup.

They just do, that is the case with my 6,and 10S lipos as well. I have found the FPs to have more longevity "cycle wise" and even more punch and flight power/feel consitency over the TPX. Why exactly??,,,not sure but I would have to lay my best guess on the way the cells are constructed and matched in their factory. The FP are just better, it is all I run now.

Do they make TP balancer adaptors for the FP's because I use TP balaners and would need adaptors.

500th

Been flying the 500th for 5 flights with 11t. Took it upstairs today and reamed her out. Just a hair under 13 collective and almost maxed cyclic with paddles. Pretty powerfull. I dont see the head speed dropping at all on climbouts. Doing low full stick circles you can hear the head speed come down a little but it mows through it. Pack is only slightly warm near 5 minutes.

Pretty happy
