nikivan rrNovice Vancouver, BC, Canada | I'd like to buy one of these, but for a while it's been out of stock. On spartan's web site it is listed as '... available early November'. Well, it is end of November now and it is still not available. Also, I looked at the archives and there are posts as early as May that the unit will support attitude/altitude stabilization 'in a few months'. Is it possible to get a little bit more info from the creator? In particular, I'd like to know if the unit I buy today will be compatible with the new features, or I better wait for the new model.Thanks.

Autoeject rrKey Veteran Ashtabula, OH, USA | NikivanThey're currently selling out as fast as Spartan can produce them. I order as many as I can and have been selling out before they arrive. The guys behind Spartan RC are Angelos and John. They've got a bit about themselves in their 'about us' part of the website. They're good guys that have worked hard to make the AP2000i into a really useful product.Spartan RC is big into product support. That's why there is the optional USB Flashlink available. With it you can update your AP2000i's firmware whenever there is a newly added function or accessory.A search on RR will net you a lot of comments from satisfied users.Mark Webber

scott sr rrVeteran SEAFORD | I bought one from Mark Webber . I haven't received it yet but I preordered it when he was out of stock and he has at least keep us up to date when the delivery date past . So the spartan guys are trying, Mark is trying . I think everyone is trying to get them out to us but sometimes problems come up , but when they keep you informed you cannot expect more than that . Now if they said it was going to be hear on this date and 2 weeks go by and you don't hear anything then I wouldn't be happy . But Mark has keep me and I guess the other guys that preordered informed so I will get it soon enough . Thanks Mark for keeping me updated . Scott Sr. ><> ****Support Our Troops**** ><>

Autoeject rrKey Veteran Ashtabula, OH, USA | RhettEveryone was sent an email detailing the situation with their pre-orders. The address I used was the one provided when you ordered. It would have come from news@webberaerialimaging.com. Maybe your spam filter caught it?PM me your address and I'll gladly resend it.Mark Webber

Disciple4123 rrKey Veteran USA | It may, I have one inquirer, although this isn't a classified, there seems to be enough interest that I will state the following:AP2000 + infrared cable, and the male-male wire set that comes with the unit. Wires are set on ferrite rings mounted on a small wooden block, can be undone if desired. $190 shipped in the US.No sensor available, no USB uplink availableThe unit was involved in a crash on the Pred, it was not hit nor were it's wires yanked at that time. The only reason for sale is that I am going from 2 helis to one. It was brought up to the latest USB uplink standard 1 month ago.I will consider trades for a 2meter electric glider. I have something in the works involving one, but it is not a priority at this time.BTW anyone have time estimates on the altitude hold and inertial sensors? Thanks,

nikivan rrNovice Vancouver, BC, Canada | I totally agree that people from Spartan provide excellent support. I see their posts and I also read the feedback from satisfied users. That is why I’ve already ordered it and I am eager to compare it to my FMA unit. What I found a bit disappointing is that the questions regarding future developments normally don’t get answered. A lot of people where asking about inertial sensors upgrade and I haven’t seen any definitive answers yet. I’d like to not only know about future availability, but also a little more about this functionality as well. For example: will inertial sensors replace the IR sensor, or they are meant to work in conjunction with it, in order to provide stable hover without drifting? For the promised altitude stabilization, the rumors are it will be based on barometric sensor. Why not use accelerometer instead?I’d appreciate if someone steps in and answers these questions.

Autoeject rrKey Veteran Ashtabula, OH, USA | I don't step in because I don't speak for Spartan. I haven't seen Angelos on the forums much lately so that may be why he hasn't answered these questions. I believe they've been quite busy across the pond of late.As I understand it, the reason behind barometric sensor is the ability to choose a particular altitude. Not necessarly just holding at the last commanded altitude.Mark Webber

scott sr rrVeteran SEAFORD | Mike I have a question or anyone can answer that know . I have a JR2000 RX and on my last receiver I had a revolution whip antenna on it . With the AP2000I can I use the Jr2000 RX with the whip antenna , or should I just use the wire antenna that comes with the receiver and just remove the whip antenna on something else ? Your comments are greatly appreciated . Thank YouScott Sr. ><> ****Support Our Troops**** ><>

BigguyOz rrKey Veteran Forster, New South Wales, Australia | From what I have read, as the Spartan fits between receiver and servos, the aerial arrangements of the receiver have no relevance.

Autoeject rrKey Veteran Ashtabula, OH, USA | Oz is exactly right. Use the antenna the provides you with the best results. The AP2000i works it's magic between the rx signal and the servos.Mark Webber

scott sr rrVeteran SEAFORD | Thanks guys The whip antenna has always been great so I really didn't want to have to take it off and find a tube to run the wire one . Have a nice weekend .Scott Sr. ><> ****Support Our Troops**** ><>
