Guys,

I have spent a fair bit of time working on nose in flying on the Sim.
So much so, that I went through a period of disorientation and crashing when I was tail in.

This screwed me up a bit, so I developed this practice strategy to fix the problem. - yes, its boring, but it really works.

The strategy is I start with tail in circles around myself, as fast and smooth as possible. When I pass over the runway (or helipad whatever) I change from tail in to nose in, keeping same speed and smoothness. Then back to tail in next time I pass the runway etc etc.

I repeat the above about 10 times before stopping, and changing direction and doing the same thing the other way.

Obviously you can vary speed and height as well for improved practice.

Another advantage of doing this is I have removed my "Favourite" direction of circling clockwise. Right now I am equally (un)comfortable going in either direction.

Hope this helps someone else

Cheers

i think the training gear is about worthless unless you plan on flying 6 inches off the grond try losing the gear when you fly i think youll like it better

Lol

I never ever used training gear!! Sim time enabled me to hover without training gear.

I just though it would sound really daft to use training gear for inverted practice!!

Would need to bury the heli about a foot deep before the training gear would touch the ground lol

Cheers
