Hi
I seem to have a problem with my Titan 50. When I do a backward flip it always comes out to the left at about a 30 degree angle. Forward flips are perfect.Seems to start going off as soon as I get to negative pitch. any ideas?

You need to have a word with your thumbs, not your heli.

Had a good long chat to my thumbs this weekend. Still not helping.I made sure that I pulled the stick straight back. Must have done 30 or more and the same result every time. Is there anything I can check?

I assume you have checked it on the bench, IE that there is no interaction, due to incorrect geometries etc.

Also have you been right through your radio, making sure there are no anomalies set in.

Have another word with your thumbs again they may not have listened the first time. but it may be an orientation thing.
I have a similar problem which I know is not my thumbs but it's an orientation thing because a change of orientation straightens them out here is what I do.
Orientation Tail in or left side in:
Forward flips are straight and tail stays where I want it
Backwards flips the tail moves out of position
Orientation Nose in or right side in:
Forward flips the tail moves out of postion
Backward flips are straight and tail stays where I want it

Had the same problem, it was my thumbs. Do you fly thumbs or claws? I bet thumbs. Give the heli to a friend and see if he has the same problem. If not and the problem can't be found on the bench, simply correct with your thumbs

sed6...

If I give it to a friend (do I have any?), they'll crash it. I'm the only heli flyer in our club that can do anything close to 3D maneuvers so far and my thumbs never listen to me. Everyone else is still at the learning/FF stages. Now if I go over to my other club (just joined), there are those that have a bit more experience than me and I wouldn't have a problem there.

Later...

i have the same problem but i no its my thumbs if i flip nice and slow its ok but i noticed when you first start doing flips you seem to want it over and done with so try nice and smooth if you time the pitch changes right you should be able to flip more or less till you run out of fuel i found its all about being smooth with stick movements not pulling back you realy dont seem to need to pull back that much to flip i was surprised on how little you can get away with just what i found when i started to flip

Hi everyone.Had a great weekend flying and I think I may have found my problem. Not the thumbs but slightly loose gyro that was throwing the tail out.I also slowed them down and it helped allot. Thanks for all the help and comments.

uhm, might sound dumb, but try each one of these seperately

dial in more or some expo on the tail

then try

expo on the aileron

just to see if it minimized the interation for disobedient thumbs

I have expo on my tail durring tic-tocs, why cant my left thumb be more like my right thumb?
