Can we use it with ESC's governor mode disabled?

Novel idea. I would imagine that you would play hell trying to find a reliable way to mount the sensor and the magnet. Sounds interesting though. Unfortunately, I think that most people that would want a GOV on a heli would want to run the headspead above 2100 and that is the limit of the GV1.

Correct me if I am wrong.
Governor never give you higher rpm. It gives only constant speed at preset (wanted) rpm.
ESC maintains the preset AMPS to motors while GV1 maintains rotor RPM. They are different. I just want better cyclic response (conpensate by GV) to heavy 3D movements.
By the way, Why 600 blade size elec heli need 2100 rpm than nitro one?

Yes and no. The GV1 makes changes to the rotor RPM by altering throttle. When you alter throttle you would change the amount of AMPs pushing through the power system.

I know of some people that run Mikado Logo 14s (similar size to the T600) in the 2200-2300 range. On an electric heli, you can spin them faster without worrying about overspeeding a nitro engine.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! Artti.

Just want to know which one is better in maintaining a better(consistant and responsive)rotor speed, Esc governor mode or GV1 ?

I guess it would be another problem to actually have the GV1 control the throttle. The GV1 controls an analog throttle servo. I'm not sure how it would work with trying to control the current to the motor.

I don't think you can use the GV1 on an electric. However, on Nitro helis, it is very accurate and I would use it over using an electric in governor mode because it actually controls the headspeed rather than the amps going to the motor.

Why would anyone use something like that one a electric? No point since you can run it at 100% flat throttle curve and it wouldn't hurt anything.

Except that a constant headspeed will be impossible to maintain with a 100% flat curve.

shannon davis on the fre@k did it with an Ion-x ....it does in fact work. The gov. controls throttle input to the s/c.

Use a Jazz ESC and you won't need to tinker with a GV1.
