Hey guys I got the whole Revolution metal head upgrade for my raptor and I have a question...On the main hub the pins that goes on the slider ring into the hub are very loose so once you turn it up right to install it on the main shaft the pins were falling out of the hub abd they would just go right thru the washout.

Was I sopoused to glue the pins on the hub and slider ring to keep the pins in plance???

well I'm kind of new to helis and I only been flying for about 1 week and today I got ot test the new head,,I got 3 flights on it and so far seems to be pretty good,,, the only difference Ihave notice it's changing for the green paddles on my raptor and about the head I'm not sure since I only do a loop and few flips here and there.

It does feel more tuchy I think,,,I had 30% expo and got it down to 20% on high rates. Igot the blue dumpers so that might be why is still pretty soft I think.

about the head it looks pretty bad ass but it didn't fit perfect as I expected but it's working good for now!!!!

Have you been flying an electric or something else? Maybe doing allot of Sim time? One week of flying and doing flips and rolls is moving along pretty fast!!! How old are you? You obviously aren't an 'old' man like me if you've gotten that far this quick. If so good job and keep up the pace. Maybe you'll be the next Alan Szabo Jr..

P.S. - I've been flying for about two years now (the second time around) and I'm just now getting to the 3D stages, but like I said, "I'm old!"

well I'm not that young 30 years old I flew a Blade CP for a few month but I never did anything crazy with it just a loop and a rool and then just flying it arround,,,never crashed it.

So all my friend were getting into helicopters and I was the last one to get me one so I went and also got a Raptor,,,and I'll neve rbe able to be like Alan I'll be happy if I could do just 1/3 of what he can do.

I do practice a lot on G3.5 but it's not the saem o nthe real thing but at least I got the stick movement practice,,,I can fly upsidedown back and forth on the sim without any problem I have been practicing the piroflip and I got it down pretty good now.

On the real thing I'm just taking it wasy and flying high just in case.

here's the video of my second flight,,,so far I have run/flown a whole gallon of fuel I guess maybe like 10 flights.

Well now I know I hate you. I had you until you started the backwards flight stuff. I just haven't gotten that stuff down. The circuits are allot like mine even though in my turns I now have gotten to the point were I whip it around so the blades beat the air and pop as it comes around. I can do nose in hovering, but not inverted nose in or tail in even. I can do the inverted loop to a push out (what you did), but I'm not good at the backwards stuff yet. I've also done auto's, but just because I had to! To date I've been successful with them. You're doing great!!! Keep it up. You'll be doing the funfly/contest circuit before you know it. I also agree with the fellow in the background who makes a comment on how he "Hates you!" after just two days. Welcome to the 3D heli community.

P.S. - Somewhere I have a video of my flying, but it's on someone else's camera and I haven't seen it yet. I need to get it so I can see if I'm as good as I think I am.

Well thanks for the complement,,,,and to give you an update I alsmos had my first crash today,,,,I got o fly 3 more tanks of fuel today and did some more upside down foreward flying which to me it feels easier than up-right back,,,anyhow,,I did some big tic-toc moves and until I was about I would say 50ft up nose in hovering when the engine suddenlly quit!!!

I saw it going into the trees becasue I was flying pretty far out and I brought it down slow so it didnt hit the trees too hard and maybe lucky wouyld be hanging on a tree (that was my though as soon as the engine quit) an finnaly I cleared the trees and landede it kind of hard on a dead stick auto rotation...uffff man what a moment that only took about 4 second from the time the engine quit and my head speed was so slow when I was almost hitting the ground that the heli pretty much dropped from about 1 ft and landed.

Can you believe that nothing broke,,not even a scratch,,,,brought it back to the pit area and found out the header tank clunk was stuck on top of the tank so that why it quit.
I guess I got myself a free helicopter today. I took a blade out and spin the spinndle to see if it got bent ,,and nothing,,,fuel it back up and hover it and everything was working great even the blades were tracking perfect,,,man I still can't believe I didnt loose it on top of the trees,, I missed them for about 10ft and I had to autorotat it to a landing spot about 150 ft away from me!!!! mannnnnnnnn

I think I wont fly for a week now!!!!

I guess all my practice on autorotation paid of!!!! and fefore my flight I was talking to a guy if he ever had a dead stick and what it felt like so now I know!!!!!!

Dead stick...

All the auto's I've done so far have been from dead stick situations. I've done allot of them on the Sim, but I can't tell how real they feel on it. I've had one that ended up being a nose in auto dead stick. That was really scary (at least to me) and landed it about 15 feet from me. I had just gotten used to the nose in hover at that point and once the heli came around and looked at me I though, "Oh Crap! I'm going to dump it.". Not! I didn't panic at the end of the landing and just set her down right in front of me. Worst thing about it was there was no one else at the field to witness this feat. So I'm really the only that really knows if I did or not. I've crashed the heli since and wasted my one year old CF blades and now have to replace them. They should be here next week if all goes well. Since you've been doing the auto's for practice you shouldn't have any real problems. Of course like anything, you can always muff one and ding the heli, so just be careful on those practice ones and the for real auto's will come naturally.

P.S. - How close to North Carolina are you? I go to a heli meet in Charlotte, N.C. each year and if you're close you should show up next year and stick bang with the rest of us. There is also another one that's in Pendleton, S.C. (Black Sheep Squadron...I think) around September that is supposed to be a do-zee. You should try to come next year and show your 3D stuff. I hope to be able to make that one this year as I wasn't able to make it for this year.

I live about 30 minutes north of ATLANTA,,and I pretty far away from doing some 3D moves yet just like I said maybe 2 or 3 tic tocs in a row flying upside down just getting used to it,,I want to master flying first ,,you know back uprick and upside down,, and foreward with out getting confused,,, once I get that part I can get getting brave in trying some 3D,,,see on the sim I can even do piroflips all day long but on the real thing it harder ,, or maybe you thinking on the money you got into it and dont want to crash.

Ireally dont want to crash it and maybe keep the good luck as with my planes I have been flying planes for 10 years and only got 1 crash for servo failure on my second plane,,then ever since I have never crash a plane. So I hope to keep that luck with helis too.

Charrua,

You are well on your way. If you're doing the moves you're doing now the rest will come very easy for you. My brain is just wired differently and I have a hard time visualizing what to do next with the sticks. I'm getting better at it with the Sim, but it's taking a long time. I just keep at it and hope for the best.
