Got a new 12Z yesterday, so I decided to test it out and see what settings I need to adjust. Made This video, but kept it high up in case any of my settings were off. I must say, the plastic 600 tail blades are no good I will be picking up some new ones. Let me know what you think! Only had the radio about 24 hours now..

fwiw..

My experience has been the opposite...The new plastic tails feel better than the original carbons, but not as good (duh) as the Radix..We auto onto a rocky field, so I'm gonna use 'em till I can outfly them...

Casey I thought you were showing a video
of "carving" the Thanksgiving turkey. Great job flying and I liked the auto for the ending....

Tom..... No "D" flying....

John..

I may need to tweek a few more settings. I will fly the plastic tail blades out for a week or so till I get some new ones and report back

I couldn't get the tail to wag on plastic at higher settings than my normal gain with the CF tail blades. I'll play with it again some more tomorrow. I had to do some field linkage adjustment to get them to hold before I shot the vid, so I'll look over the whole tail again to see what I missed. I think I have the belt a bit too tight after that last rebuild too.

I'm curious to see what you think...I know that thanks to you and others loosening the belt a bit on the 600 was magic...like gaining power for nothing!

I'm down to the 10T pinion again for now, so some headspeed is sapped right there already. I can bet, I set my belt "a mm too tight" if you will. It was a bit "boggier" than normal, so I will loosen it a hair for sure.

I also notice, the plastic "batman" trex 600 tail blades don't have as much surface area as the carbons. The plastic batmans are stiff, I just don't understand why they cut down on surface area to get the batman shape?

Lose tail control for a good looking shape? it must be better aerodynamically, cause theres something I'm missing about it..

John,
Here is two tail blowout outakes from yesterday.
The first one was obviously due to loading up the head and lots of pitch. The second one however, was due to decreased tail hold, even after some linkage adjustments in normal backwards flight.
http://www.holmesrc.com/files/600_t...stic_blades.wmv

Gain was up to 85% too!
I had the carbon ones running at 75%. any more and I would get wagging and too slow of a piro rate. The plastic won't wag, and won't hold well backwards for me (yet), but I'll keep working on them

Notice also, the backwards inverted fig eight in the first video. The second turn of the fig eight is a bit "quick" because the tail almost blew out there too. I havn't noticed all this with the carbon stock tail blades.

I'll keep pushing, but am having good luck with backwards, and as I'm not too good at it yet, feel I'm making the blades work harder...The Radix blades will certainly hold, but have an abrupt stop I'm not crazy about..Perhaps I'll try those with a 611 and tune the stops...
the experimenting is most of the fun!

Don't know anything about HD cams. Can anyone help point me to a worth while camera?
My only good camera is a Nikon DSLR (used for all my still photography and space imaging)

I Can charge a 7s if somone has a generator for me to plug into, no problem. Not sure if my car battery alone will handle it?

After buying that logo and the 12Z, I think upgrading the 600 motor combo is out of the question for a little while Better lay back and do some "light flying" for a while so I can rebuild the "crash fund"
