My wife lets me keep a few around.2 raptor 30's, I now have to hawk pro's, 1 cyclone, 1 raptor g2, 1 raptor 90 se, trex 600 just the kit not fliable, and I just bought but not recieved a bergen intrepid.

I asked Curtis how many helis he has at our FF, and the answer was 2 for 3-D, plus an FAI machine. Good enough for me!

It would be nice to have twins so the parts are common, but it's also nice to appreciate different brands. I have a Raptor and Evo. The first year was just the Raptor, and I never needed a backup. If I crashed, flying should be done for the day anyway in order to reflect. I'd always be back up by the next day. If you don't keep a lot of spare parts around or have a good LHS, then a backup is pretty important if your nice weather comes in short spurts. The problem with a full hanger is compromising your attention and resources (unless you are very well off).
It's better to have one "perfect" machine then several mediocres!

Very timely post.I lost flying this holiday weekend to a simple plastic part on my 450SE.

I'm wondering though, better to have two the same, or two different?

With two different helis,I think I'd still have an addiction to spare parts. I have a ton of spares for my 450SE, but of course not the one I need today.

Then again, with two helis, it wouldn't be too bad to have one down for a week waiting for parts.

I think the answer is addicts can never have enough
